Well this game really does have potential to sell millions and millions. Sony must market this game enough however.

2 - Bow down to our new leader; Shuhei Yoshida!
I agree. If anything is certain, it is the unlimited potential of Little Big Planet and its appeal to both the hardcore and the casual in all markets. I can see this game being very popular in Europe, especially.

No doubt, universal appeal regardless of heritage. Universal appeal regardless of age group, universal appeal regardless of "gaming demographic" (hardcore/casual).

If LBP doesn't win game of the year I'll be shocked.

Thing is, all I see is a level designer so far. Where's the "game"?

Well it comes with 50+ already created levels that have an actually story when you play through them (estimated at 12-15 hours in gameplay). There's also a host of mini-games available.

Basically, you could spend countless hours on LBP without even creating a single object.

Not interested in creating, well just enjoy what the others have created/shared then.

Thing is, is that you don't see a gun, so you don't think it's a game.

6.3 - What is wrong with you?
Why does a game need to hold your hand with a story and a concept to be considered a game? With this game, you can create any "game" you want to, whether it's a puzzle action game, a straight up platformer, or a technology / physics demonstration for your friends. The possibilities are nearly endless, and that is why this title is receiving the attention that it is.

Media Molecule have created something special here, and it deserves all the hype it can get.

6.4 - and...
for those who really really have to have guns in their games, in LBP you can make a great big one yourself, and stick wheels on it and ride on it! or just stick it in the background for decoration :P

Exactly. As soon as LBP releases people will forget about it, too. Just as soon as the next big title is announced LBP will be a memory.

Exactly. MGS4 didn't get picked up by people of all demographics. LBP will sell in every territory, to the casual and the hardcore, to the young and the old.

MGS4 is AMAZING at what it does, but LBP does its own thing.

Sony done very well to get LittleBigPlanet and the decision to get the game was a very good decision. 26 people working on the game means the game did not cost the amount that a MGS4 would have and it could easily get as amny sales = Profit = More games being made for PS3 = more happy consumers

Unless they cut the price with its launch i dont see any casual gamers choosing this over the Wii.

Even though LBP is the far superior game Nintendo could easily market Animal Crossing in the same way as LBP. And since Nintendo is FAR better than Sony at marketing i think Animal Crossing will take a lot of sales away from LBP

Can you blame Sony for being a little rusty when it comes to advertising? They hardly ever had to in the PS2 era but when they did, the adverts were surely some of the most memorable.

It can go in two important ways.

1. If Sony markets it well it might start selling consoles on a wii level Japan has become a huge casual market and this fits it nicely.

2. Sell well but not in huge numbers about 2 million.

There is no way this game will fail.

A $400 console is not going to sell at Wii levels. It will take more than one game to do that.

I think this game looks slow and boring. I don't know one person with a ps3 that is looking forward to this game. Maybe i'm just too old for these type of games.

They shouldn't release LBP OCT 29th it's crazy because RESISTANCE2 is like a week away, they gonna crash in sales. In the end of SEMPTEMBER sounds better, there's no hot games coming out yet, I dont know why hold the game, when it's ready to release,it's stupid.
