TimeSplitters 4 eschews Haze engine, TS2 HD remake hinted

According to Derek Littlewood of Free Radical, TimeSplitters 4 won't utilize the heavily-criticized Haze graphics engine. Instead, Free Radical opted for some "new and double shiny tech."

Take note, Square Enix.

You maybe busy with all the Final Fantasy XIII business but this is how you should treat your fans if they ask for a remake of your most popular game.

Okay, I aint saying people are gonna be doing this for every other game otherwise people are gonna be asking Konami for a remake of MGS1 for the PS3 or Rockstar for a remake of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City but the fact that Free Radical are considering a remake of Timesplitters 2 with possibly online multiplayer if what I seen was right on PSM3 is a great step for fans of FR and it maybe redemption for people who didnt like Haze.

I don't think it's that awesome, the biggest problem I have with it is that the game is pretty easy anyway, the first person elements make it even easier.

It's good, but the cutscenes and gameplay do not suit it at all.

5 - Im one of the biggest fans of Timesplitters 1 and 2
Ive probably put over 150 + hours into each game. But as a fan, I hate so say it but I think that Free Radical might not be in the same league as the best of them. They proved with Haze that they have alot of improvments to make. I know games arent about graphics but we are already into the 2 year of the playstation, and as an Exclusive brand they should have all the resources to make a beautiful game. Haze has proved that they are not up for that challenge. I hope to god that they learned from their mistakes cause even as much as I love Timesplitters, I wont buy or even rent a half assed game that doesn't deserve to be in my ps3 or any one of my consoles.

was rubbish. I was hyped for the game, got it, played it in between headaches, had fun a few times, painful most of the time though and the
particle effects were pathetic. Good thing they scrapped it.

They get a mulligan with Haze. If they screw up their next release, that might spell trouble. If they can make a top quality game then Haze won't affect the company too much.

If they cant then Im done with Ubi,,, I pretty much gave up on every other IP they have,, including R6V with its laggy online and offline ugly graphics and cheap thrills.

While I liked TS2 I don't want a remake, just give me TS4 and make it as good as possible. For god for them making a new engine instead of the using the Haze engine, man that game was bad.
