cause Monday is a holiday...and kids are out of school.

Interestingly enough....I have never even thought about taking off from work or school, when I was in it, to stay home and play a game...let alone a beta.

Ok thats it, im pissed. you can disagree with me all you want but this pisses me off, so last minute.. the fact i took off for this!! OMG i hate sony right now, I know its only 4 days but for god sakes its always been one step forward 2 steps backward with sony and the delays.. Im sick of this crap, watch a "slight" delay with home, littlebigplanet and while we are at it with R2.

Yes i love the PS3 as you can tell by my name but i also own a 360 and i have to say that with all of the 360 faults atleast they hardly EVER delay anything.

like someone on here said in another post "if sony was in charge of death, we would live forever" so true

look i can respect that you want to play the game. but lets not act like it's sonys fault. you people crack me up. yeah sony called these guys and said " hey lets delay it a week " and i can name about 4 or 5 x box related things that are being delayed right now as well. it happens. people are spoiled. they complain if it gets delayed to make it right. they complain if it's not delayed and broken.

when games are delayed it's not sony or microsofts fault. it's the game makers fault. and they only delay it to make it right. stop crying.

lol.. Sony is not developing SOCOM, R2 or LBP. They are just the platform that the games are bing released on. Yea, we know Sony delays things, but this is not their fault. I agree with themyk, I'd rather wait and have something awesome than have them release something broken. Sucks for people that took the day off, but you'd be more upset if the game you all love so much left a bad taste in your mouth because it wasn't working properly. (Not just this game, but all games you might enjoy)

There are two viewing modes. Classic third person view and OTS. But, OTS is the default option.

That part, I'm actually not too sure about. I hope so though. There could be semi-FPS since there is no iron-sight view.

I was seriously looking forward to this beta and 2 days before beta release they f**king delay it. At least let us know weeks in advance. I took Tuesday off from work for a reason.

18 - I wish Zipper still made this game
I mean, Im all excited from MAG, but I would rather play a true next gen socom then MAG. Also, I think its pretty pathetic the full version is only getting 7 maps. Especially since almost half of them are old maps from the ps2 versions just with next gen graphics. Its a really frustrating time to be a gamer.

you don't actually think the name of that game is "mag" do you? i can almost guarantee that's a code name, or something.

i'll say it now. when that game is released it well be called socom (something)

like socom zero. or socom blablablablabla. what ever. but mag. massive action game. no.

I really wish Zipper Int would just remake Socom 2 in HD with the PS3 specs in mind. I am willing to bet Socom 2 HD for PS3 will sell more copies than Socom Confrontation.

This is a bit frustrating. I have been waiting to play the game for over a year now. Then they announce that you can get the Socom beta from Qore, so I get Qore. Then they announce that pre-orders get the beta early so I get a pre-order. Now they are delaying the beta. I can wait 4 more days, but it is still disappointing. The one positive thing to come out of this though is that the comments section, for that blog post, is a hilarious read.

well, for a PSN game this is taking entirely too long to get going. This game should have been out by july. It would have been a no-brainer in July but now... They have pushed it back to october and its not going to bode well for sales.

Why would anyone take off for a beta? Really? Do you really expect the beta to run smoothly when it starts off? Or do you think its gonna get raped and hammered by everyone at the same time and cause lag and crashes? Yes I have played Socom. I played Socom 2 everyday for like 2 years. Socom is awesome and I can't wait to get my headset bundle, but to call off of work for a beta has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of. The same thing happened for the AoC early access, people took off so they could play the game but then they ended up pushing it back from the morning to later that night or the day after leading to people whining about having called off and being betrayed by funcom and blah blah blah.

These delays are getting to be F@CKING bullshit. I could care less for Home or other things, but SOCOM. SOCOM is the game I grew up with(and still am growing up with). My first memory of SOCOM 1 is being on the ship just watching those two guards walk away, then stealthily sneak up behind them and knife em. I loved that ship. SOCOM 2 I remember the insane online matches. My favorite map was Chain Reaction. SOCOM 3, I remember the STG77 with the suppressor and pistol grip, having uber accuracy and kicking so much ass.

SOCOM: Confrontation, my first memory shall be the delay to September, then October. :(

I can't beleive how many things have been delayed on Playstation 3. I was really looking forward to playing this on Monday. Maybe Sony shouldn't have made their console so difficult to develop for. By the time developers realize the full potential of the system, Nintendo and Microsoft will have rolled out their next systems.
