1.1 - Not really
If you look at it this way, we will be seeing a rise in court cases where 7 year old kids with their parents will be arguing about a game!

Media Molecule deserve the praise not Sony. Also Reported your comment for using words that are banned in this zone.

Excellent idea. Although this was confirmed a long time ago it's good to see the feature is still included.

I'm curious about how they are dealing with copyright of existing images, music, etc out there? What if I put the golden arches on my level?

Good question, sadly this has mainly been addressed with changes. Now only images taken from the PS3 Eye can be placed into your level, they also have no support for adding your own music to levels. I imagine all this was done purely because of fears over copyright.

Regarding the Golden Arches, I'm sure as it's user generated the responsibilities would lie with you not MM or Sony. Although I doubt many people (McDonalds included) would have a problem with it. Your not producing profit from it so....

6.2 - Surely though
I could take an image of and image (with the PS3 Eye)? What would happen in this case of copyright? I'd assume MM would remove the level or request for a change in graphics if it ever became popular enough (or reported?)

That's true, although there was talk a while back about some people profiting off their levels. I wonder if the levels up for sale must pass an inspection before they are deemed available for sale. I suppose all of this will come out in the near future.

thanks

King

That rumour was proved false, it actually came from twisting a statement from Alex, when asked about future content, DLC and the >possibility< of charging for your content he replied with "yeah of course in the future it's always a possibility" or something along those lines.

Either way, MM came out soon after and confirmed you will not be able to charge for your content at this stage (but then, in the future theres always the possibility ;) but I imagine that IF it ever happened it would include some sort of Vetting process)

9 - copy right
they already said its not copyright in terms of legal things so no lawsuits

a copyrighted item in game means the copyright holder can decide how to distribute it

yeah you can "copyright" it so no one can use it or only the people you give it to can use it.

Personally, I am not going to use it. It goes against what LBP is all about. That said, I will still get credit for making the objects as they have the original owner embedded in the object. So why on earth would someone be stingy?

9.2 - Kudos to you!
You're the first one to have read the article. Media Molecule is asking for trouble by using a common legal term in his game. The definition of "copyright" is well known. All it takes is one guy to misunderstand the term and you have a class action lawsuit.
