GC 2008: Sony's PS3 MMOs

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announced today that SCEE has joined forces with Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) – developer of groundbreaking online Massive Multiplayer Online (MMOs) games including the wildly popular EverQuest® -- in an arrangement that will bring a whole new dimension to PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3) gaming.

Under the new agreement, SCEE will publish and distribute three MMOs developed by SOE for PS3 throughout the PAL territories. In addition, SCEE will also publish the PC versions of DC Universe and The Agency on behalf of SOE in the PAL territories. The new arrangement allows SCEE to benefit from SOE's experience in a different area of video gaming publishing, one which opens up a whole host of possibilities for PS3.

Sony has made deals with all of those third party developers...before Microsoft even jumped into the gaming business......hahahahaha oh and Sony has been making deals with Sony lately because Sony has the best developers....it would only make sense.....why go out for burgers when you can have your steaks at home......hahaha.....and Netflix...who gives a sh!t about that....it's not even high def.....why waste hours on watching low quality movies....hahahahaha

Sony is making deals with sony to make games that the xbox will never have a chance of ever getting while microsoft is making deals with square and konami to get games that the PS3 already has... wich is why sony is da bomb diggity.. and ur just a ignorant fanboy... but thats ok you just keep on with all ur fanboy drivel it will just make it all the more sweet when sony beats the 360 back to the stone age

Yeah, Microsoft is doing what they do best and paying for timed exclusivity and opening up the checkbook for a bunch of third party games that aren't even theirs while Sony is actually making their own games.

And if I recall the Xbox 360 isn't on the top of the world either.

Hopefully they offer better service by taking some good example off of several other MMORPGs out there. I remember EQOA providing one of the worst services to the players.

I guess this may put the PS3 a notch above the other big 2,but I saw nothing about MAG. The only info I have seen has been from this years E3 and that info is becoming a bit dated. After seeing MAG previewed at this years E3 the showing , MAG was the main reason I bought a PS3.

is more of a casual market, hence all the Singstar, EyePet and VidZone announcements at Leipzig. Expect to see MAG at next years E3, and you will see quite alot of it, i believe

The Agency, DC Universe and Free Realms appeal to me very much!

I'm not really a MMO player, tbh, but those all sound very, very cool if they stay free on PSN (I doubt it, MMOs usually need income) or have a smallish subscription fee.

Brilliant for Pal areas, especially the UK.

Hold on, Free Realms is free, isn't it? AWWWEEESOME.

Also just sounds like plain mess about turn on, drop in gameplay!

EDIT: Just scan read it again. Micro transactions for some stuff in the game, still not bad;
