Everything is awesome except for that keypad...

How are you suppose to type with it? holding the controller with one hand while typing on the head of it with the other?

Would be much slicker if they had put it beneeth the start buttons imo. Thumb typing is the shizznit.

Did they just quietly kill backwards compatibility? The blog says it has the same functionality as the new 80GB arriving in stores (Core).

Or are they keeping some variant of the MGS4 bundle in stores?

Looks like by the end of the year BC will go the way of the dinosaur in the US like it has in all the other territories. And no there is no price cut for the millionth time. Sony wants to turn a profit on the PS3 this fiscal year. A price cut will not help them do that. 160gb PS3 with Uncharted for $499. 80gb PS3 $399.

Cheers for the pics! Looks rather interesting....

The keyboard goes over the R1/L1 so you just put your fingers under the keyboard to use your controller as normal.

I would of preferred it on the bottom of the controller like the 360, but I'll still be getting it. It makes things so much easier having a key pad on your controller. Especially with messaging on psn being text based.

what happens if MS does slash price and the PS3 with Socom and LBP outsells em? I do think the price cut is real and i do think it will happen in Sept but i dont think it will have much of a impact without a game to make ppl take notice....

True, the MS price cut was rumor, but if it is true, then they xbox 360 will outsell the ps3 in the US this holiday season. By how much, I don't know. But as for world sales, the ps3 will clearly outsell it. European will eat up the PS3 with the Launch of Little Big Planet, Resistance 2 and other PS3 exclusive. As for Japan, The ps3 will outsell it, but I don't know by how much. The xbox 360 have several key JRPG coming out soon that will help the xbox 360 a lot this holiday in Japan. Sony better release some RPG this year for the ps3 in Japan, because as of right now, there isn't any RPG coming out for the PS3 in Japan in the coming months.

See im not sure with the price cut that the 360 outsells the PS3 in NA the rest of the year. I know Socom will bring some PS2 gamers. Im not a real big sales guys "i dont really care" but ppl like to create things and if LBP hits the mark i think its aiming for the PS3 will see many more casual gamers looking at getting a PS3. Some could say casual gamers are also movie fans. If you add in that the fiscal year for gaming really ends in Feb then we need to add KillZone.

but tell you the truth

A $300 Pro 360 is tempting but im waiting to see what happens if MS doesnt renew the warranty. Even a 18month warranty would be good. If they dont renew i will wait till i can get the Elite for under 350bucks

I complete forgot about Socom. That is going to sell more Playstation 3 that Little Big Planet in October in my Opinion.
Here is why
First Socom comes out a week before little Big Planet. People are going to buy a PS3 when Socom is release, and then buy Little Big Planet. I just hope Sony have enough PS3 in stock because the demand is going to be insane for PS3 that Month.

I think Uncharted is a fine choice. It'll be Greatest Hits then - and honestly a 160gig PS3 with Uncharted, a DS3, and Pain is an INCREDIBLE value. I don't think they'll have trouble shifting copies of R2 or LBP, but I'm sure people would love a bundle of those as well. I think a new 80gig bundle with LBP would be killer.
