"At approximately 50GB per area this could take a serious chunk out of one's hard drive."

Wow, I did not know this....

I guess I'll need a bigger hard drive...

You had me worried x_x

And at 50MB an area, I don't see it taking up that much space :/

You'd have to download 20 to get 1 GB, interesting to see what they do with friend's rooms though. I'd guess that it'd save the base of the different rooms, and then just loads (option to save?) the location of items.

I've been using it, and theres still plety more polish to be applied before it could be called a finished app. Whats there is great for what it is - but I've a feeling a lo of people have unrealistic expectations of it being a game, instead a very feature rich multiplayer lobby, so some people mioght be disapointed.

For my own part - I love it and have alresady made plenty more friends and played and enjoyed most of the silly mini games (which are very basic, but fun anyway)

6 - Home is great!
Home is indeed something special and will be well worth the wait! It will put XBL to shame, I can honestly say that now, it's better than I originally thought.

Btw, all Beta testers are under an agreement drawn up by Sony to not mention or show any of the features of Home to those not involved in the Beta, doing so can get you banned. I will keep saying this to prevent more people leaking vids like this. Home is being tested and isn't final, so by leaking footage all you'll do is put back development by Sony having to reply to demands by people not in the Beta asking questions. The urge to show off what Sony have accomplished is very strong for testers but please just keep Home within the Beta community, any upcoming updates should be kept confidential as well.

8 - People
Need to stop showing footage of Home. Sony need to spend there time fixing it not rung around stopping videos from being shown and banding people because there could stick to the terms and agreements.

If your in the beta and u are thinking of doing this don't because all this does is delay Sony's Plans and makes everyone else have to wait.

just be happy are in the beta because if u continue this u sure wont be in it for much longer.

And this is come from a beta tester.

8.1 - It won't slow progress
The team that works on the 'game' and the legal team are completely different. The only way it could slow it down is if an overwhelming amount of people point something out they don't like, and then they try to correct it.

Although, it may give the program some bad light, by over/undershooting the expectations presented by the features of this incomplete build :3

9 - I'd rather wait than see this stuff
I don't want to hear complaints that it looks like it it "plays" like crap, because some ignorant individual is too stupid to realize that this is a work in progress (hence the term BETA).

Sony hasn't delayed this for nothing. They are trying to get it absolutely right because this is probably the biggest "IP" their gaming division has resting on their shoulders right now, other than LBP and Killzone 2 (in terms of anticipation and hype)

Thing is my friend - it doesn't 'play' at all. Its not a game.

9.2 -
That's why I put "Play" in quotations. It really doesn't play like a game at all, because it's not a game. There are some people out there that still fail to realize this fact, though, so that's why I had to write it as such.

10.1 - Excellent
You'd rather have an unfinished, buggy, lackluster product if it means it can come out early. Well done, good sir!

Hey, you can always blame the delay on the many people who had a negative opinion of HOME back when the very first beta-testing was going on....

10.2 -
No that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying Sony should of had been developing this a looooong time ago and had this crap finished a loooooong time ago. So you'd be happy if Sony tells you it's going to be delayed for another oh...3 years because they want to add more rooms? FOR WHAT?! They already said this wasn't a "social place" wtf? really? Sony? then wtf is this all for?

Do you know how hard it is for me to convince my friends "Hey let's go hang out at the bowling alley, no not that one the one in HOME" OMG they'll laugh at me for ages.

Nintendo and MS went the right course for this, they just added in simple retarded looking Miis because they know Gamers with GAMES are going to want to just hope in and PLAY THEIR GAMES. I'll hop in home decorate my room go to a few places BAM what next? More rooms? please. Like I said they need to give me a reason to keep coming back and what better than special events like zombies or some other crap.

Oh and BTW did you hear how BORED OUT OF HER FREAKING MIND that chick sounded? Sounds like the typical HOME user after 2-3 hours of exploring. "Heres my couch.....you can sit down...."

HAVE FUN SITTING DOWN ON YOUR VIRTUAL COUCH BECAUSE YOUR TRAILER PARK CAN'T FIT ONE.

10.3 - @kydrice
You obviously dont understand the concept of innovation. Its really what the gaming industry needs right now. Home is a step in the right direction when it comes to social networking within gaming.

The point of Home is NOT to go hang out with your friends at the Bowling Alley. Its a place where everyone on the Playstation Network can connect, socialize, and browse through content in a refreshing manner, rather than through a bunch of 2D menus.

Please don't even make assumptions about how Home is when you havent even played it, and dont even understand the concept of Home. For the last time, ITS NOT A GAME. Its a social network for gamers. Simple as that.

12.1 - It's alot more than that though
HOME is essentially Yahoogames/music.com; gamingsite forums like gamestrailers, gamespot IGN etc; N4G; Facebook & Myspace all rolled into one, offering 10X more features than they all do and injected with some serious steroids.

Any gamer that uses any of the above services and says they won't be using HOME is just BSing themselves. I dare any core PS3 gamers NOT to have this installed and used on their PS3.

14 - The only problem
i see with home is that there isn't enough choices when creating your appartment, like only few choices for chairs etc.

But hopefully this will improve and alot more stuff added for customisation of appartments and people. - is only a beta like

Theres a limited feature set implimented yet - some options don't have even a single option and you can't put up photo frames or TV's yet.
Also a lot of beta testers haven't visited all the stores and grabbed all the extra decor items that available there, which give you many more options. Currently, everything in the stores is free - including a nice summerhouse to go along with your appartment!
My only gripe is that my toy robot won't stand up straight on my display cabinet without falling over!

Are you allowed to tell us if you can hang photos from your HDD up? If not, you should tell Sony they should. Videos from your HDD on your tv would be cool too.

"Are you allowed to tell us if you can hang photos from your HDD up? If not, you should tell Sony they should. Videos from your HDD on your tv would be cool too."

Can't confirm the videos off the hard drive, but that was the intent many moons ago when Sony announced Home. I can confirm that photos did work from the HD, but can't say for sure as of this posting since we've had to re-install Home. I'd tell you more, but than I'd have to kill you, right? :P
