PS3-Sense writes "Yesterday on the forums of PS3Hax a topic was posted with alot of information about loading backups on a PlayStation 3. A german hacker called StreetSkaterFU succeeded in loading backups on his PS3."

Yeah, and stories got approved for the toggle switch to play copied games on the PS3. If anything it won't last as long as people keep getting the firmware updates, and Sony loves giving those out.

most firmwares bring great improvement to the system in a lot of ways..

agreed PS3 would be pointless to hack maybe but bluray writers are in the £100-£150 mark now and will drop below £100 by the end of the year. PS3 is the only console not hacked 360 was hacked weeks after release and wii a couple of months after.

StreetSkaterFU? The same guy, who was/is a major member of TeamICE? The TeamICE, who told everyone they had hacked the console when they had achieved *nothing*? The TeamICE, who shortly after people called them out, simply vanished? The TeamICE, who single handedly invented the trend of bogus PS3 hacks?

There were a LOT of people trusting this bunch back then. People who thought those guys weren't just in it to get some e-fame.

TeamICE, f'ck you. You have let down those who believed in you and abandoned them. You fooled people - don't expect them to cheer for you now.

Absolutely mate. Not only has every BS story of a PS3 hack been utterly fabricated, but this guy has a long history of doing this.

I had to laugh when the first thing he claimed was Running War hawk of a HD. ITS A DOWNLAODABLE GAME AND RUNS OFF OF HD ANYWAY!

The problem is, that the net is full of gullible people who will believe this.. "theres no smoke without fire " they say.

Why bother ? Its too risky, Pricey and stupid.. and for what ? the price of a £35 game ? No point in my eyes having the risk of getting your PS3 blocked from the network and also compromising the studios from the money they deserve for the development of such games.

#1 3/5 games are all OLD games, 1/5 games is a downloadable game (need I say more) and last but not least this quote:

"all in all its a hack for rich ppl as you need to have 2 big HDD's to store all games on it, which you want to play. 2 games would require actually about 50-100GB on both HDD's. if you have much space on pc hdd thats no prob as you can just backup and rewrite the data on HDD's."

Meaning, if you want to spend money and buy huge HDD's go right on ahead, but the problem is if you have 10 games and you want to put them on HDD's you could probably get a 120 gb for $60, that's about 2-3 games. On top of that you still have to buy the game (from what's taken from the website) and you still need about 3 - 4 more HDD's @ 60gb a pop.

Sounds like he may be talking about the 360 and its HDD replay and DD. It will never be a "wave of technology".

he holds up a warhawk blu-ray and plays warhawk off the hard drive...so he had a blu-ray copy and a downloaded version.

he also held up the motorstorm blu-ray and then...turned his ps3 off.

Say goodbye to the online component in the PlayStation 3 because Sony will catch you. Remember the hackers who got those PlayStation Network accounts, they didn't last long online. PlayStation Network has email/password sign-ins so security will be tight.

I don't even understand how this is a hack when I can play Warhawk off the HD (Hard Drive) as will.

People saying that the PS3 will never be hacked are just fooling themselves. Now that Blu-ray burners are becoming more economical it is just a matter of time before someone figures out how to hack the firmware to allow burned discs to play on the machine. You can get a dual-layer burner from Newegg that burns 50GB discs:

It's going to be a situation like we see with the PSP. New firmware is released and within a few days hacked firmware is released that allows all sorts of new features to be added. Trust me, it's just a matter of time before Sony is on the defensive.
