Tempted to get Blu-Ray just for sake of Artwork and possibly instruction book. Depends how much more it costs for packaging like Warhawk, I guess.

Yeah I know, Microsoft is doing all this talk about Digital Downloads but Sony are the ones that are offering full versions of their games like GT5P and Warhawk for download on the PSN, but I don't see Microsoft offering Gears of War or Halo 3 for download on Xbox Live.

are you comparing a demo game and a only multiplayer game with two bigger retail games? with both story gameplay and multiplayer?

If I buy a bigger Harddrive for my PS3 do I just pop it in and it formats automatically or do I need some kinda of instruction set for somewhere?

3.7 - new HDD
this is to answer your question. wth did I agreed with that but whatever! if you want to upgrade the HDD, always make sure you back-up you old HDD using PS3's back-up utility! you will need an external FAT32 HDD for that! then you can change the HDD and the ps3 will do the formating for you! after that, you can restore your back-up data to your new HDD. just remember 1 thing! always back-up your data 1st before doing anything!

you know what is lame? M$ mentioning all this DD thing but they gave you core and arcade 360! then they sell overpriced HDD to them! that's beyond LAME! it SUCKS!!

4.3 - Yeah
Its real lame that all hard drives have a limited amount of space and eventually run out. Its lame that Sony didn't use a state of the art Western Digital 5000 infinity drive that never runs out of space. Real f*****g shame. Damn you Sony for giving us a hard drive that doesn't have unlimited space --__--

Not only can you install a bigger non-proprietary hard drive, but I think you can also plug in an external hard drive!

Theoretically, I think you can even save PSN content to a flash drive. I'm positive you can save media and game saves, but not sure about full games or demos...

4.5 - you know what's even MORE lame?
pimping your console as a haven for digital distribution, but not including a hard drive standard with EVERY SKU, thus forcing those that want DD to buy the more expensive unit (negating the need for the "cheaper" HDD-less one in the first place), or buy the over-priced HDD peripheral.

...Your ignorance astounds me.

Sony gives you a choice of upgrading your space, unlike a certain company who restricts you to the space you have on the console. So um...Sony is the smarter ones here.

If a Blu-ray version of Rachet and Clank Quest for Booty will be released in Europe only, then I'm going to import it because it would save me some hard drive space... at this rate, I think that I'll probably finally upgrade my launch 60GB PS3's hard drive to a 250GB at least because I'm pretty sure that Resistance 2 will have a pretty big hard drive installation... probably 4GB-5GB and I don't want to even think how big Killzone 2's hard drive installation could be.

8.1 - damn, dude.
WHAT do you have on your HDD?

i have a 60 gig also, and i still have about 30 gigs free, and that's WITH about 19 game and demo downloads (i need to delete a few), about 5-6 gigs of music, a bunch of trailers, game videos, music videos, and a bunch of photos (ie, wallpapers, etc). i haven't even done any "Spring Cleaning" on my HDD yet, deleting unnecessary stuff.

i don't have a bunch of games installed either, just SCIV, MGS4, GTAIV, and probably other games with 4 or IV in the title that i can't think of at the moment.

if i need space, the first things i delete are videos and music, as i can just transfer them to my fiance's external drive. i can't do the same with the PSN games and demos i have stored on the HDD.

upgrading your HDD isn't expensive, so i'd recommend that if you really like this DD stuff.

i prefer to have things on disc, so i may wait, but i love me some Ratchet, so i'm not sure. 2.3 gigs isn't as bad as 9gigs for Siren. that i'm DEFINITELY waiting for a disc version (or i'll just import the EU version).

I have the 80g and found that if you go into your save game files some games take up a ton of space. Oblivion takes up 5 gigs, GTA 4 we know is 4 gigs. I was suprised by Oblivion bc I don't remember having a long install. So just erase some of those old game files and you will be surprised how much space you will save.
Shut this user up Let user speak
Figboy - 491 days 13 hours ago
8.3 - Oblivion doesn't have
a long install, or an install at all.

it seems to just automagickally take up 5 gigs on your HDD.

i have no idea how or why.

in either case, since the "install" isn't very long, it's usually the one i delete first when i'm trying to get some space.

Heavenly Sword takes up 2gig, and also doesn't have a long "install." that's the next one i usually delete, and so on, and so forth. and if it's a game that i haven't played in a few months, there's no reason to keep it installed on my HDD period, so that also gets the chop.

people on the internet like to complain, even when the solution to their complaint isn't really that difficult. it could be a LOT worse, honestly. the fact that we're able to install certain PS3 games in order to improve performance at all is nice. hell, i would have KILLED to have been able to install Mass Effect on my 360 HDD. maybe that would have helped with the long and rampant texture pop in, loading times, and framerate issues.

i'm generally always for improving the performance of games that i'm spending upwards of $60 on.

with Quest for Booty only $15, and taking up only 2.4 gigs of space, i can't really complain. at least it's not Siren (9gigs!! i'll import the Blu Ray, thanks. i DO have my limits, after all).

Anyone still whinning about HD space (trolls) you're really not understanding the benifits of PS3.

At the very least, the absolute minimum, every serious gamer should have a 100GB in there. Thats plenty for all games related files and you most frequently used media.

Then, if you're a big .avi horder, plug a 500GB external usb in which costs about as much as a Big Mac nowadays and there a more room then you'll ever need, as well as being a big fat memory card for going from PC to PS3.

Now, do I have to explain how PS3 controllers save you hundreds of dollars on batteries a year?

I only just got a 360 but I bought the play and charge kit for the controller. Am I going to buy several hundred dollars in those batteries?

And, yes, I am an original owner of 20gb machine and ... no I have not had to upgrade it yet. I don't play more than a couple games at a time, so old installs get deleted.

2.3gb's for a 3-4 hours game.

And no, GT5P is upwards of 6gb's. It would use more if you download the intro video, ending video, and other videos that was also included on the blu-ray version.

cut the "so much for blu-ray" crap already.

so? what's your point? you want them to put it on DVD instead? to make them cheaper at retail or something?

btw, do you know that games on 360 which are on DVD9 are priced the same with PS3 games on BD?

on topic, I think it's good for Sony to make it available on both BD and PSN so people will have more choice on how to purchase the game. plus, PS3 games are totally region free, making importing easier for those region without BD version

These attempts at trolling are getting more and more pathetic.

At least with some of the uber trolls (both PS3 and 360) there is some humor. This is just sad.

2 gb is nothing to me. I have 320 gb hdd in my ps3 with well over 230 gb of space left over and plenty of games and content on it already. Buy the Samsung 320 guys. You have 298gb left after the formating.

Can't beat that and Western Digital sure can't.
