Fallout 3 Reclassified MA15+ in Australia "Huzzah!"

XboxOZ360 reports:

Today the OFLC has revealed that Fallout 3 has been reclassified
for Australian standards to the MA15+ rating.

It is rated MA15 for: "Strong Violence, Drug Use, and Coarse Language"

Lets hope the alterations to the game are only just for the renaming of official drugs to fictional ones, and nothing more.

Rumor is that even with the earlier banning of the Fallout 3, we might still be recieveing the game around the same time it launches World Wide, so lets hope that us Aussies dont fall too far behind the rest of the gaming community!

What does this mean for us? It means we have faith in gaming developers that they will try and bring the games we are eagerly waiting for even if our rating system is flawed. It means that large developers are also pushing for a R18+ rating in Australia, and that can only be a good thing...

Nice but seriously, how did the gore and violence get past their rating? They'll probably censor some of the gory deaths like Gears.

Bare in mind, if you're getting this on PS3, it's region free and will probably cost the same to buy and import from America as to buy in Australia.

Censorship is useless.

if you want to buy PS3 version, buying it or any other games imported on EBay are always cheaper than retail in Australia! 3rd party games usually will cost AUD99.90 to AUD119.90 over there at almost everywhere! but sometimes JB HiFi (cheapest store for games) will give you quite a good deal like AUD89 a pop!

yeah Pirate Thom, but its nice to know the general population can get it, and we can get it as well without worrying about customs.

Cool, now I don't have to import it, unless of course they don't bring out the CE here, then I'll be getting it from the UK anyhow . . But great to see it's finally gotten through, albeit in a slightly modified form.

I'm still getting it from the UK, I found with your help XboxOZ360 that I can buy cheaper in the UK than in Australia even after p/h.
Also I want the full version, not some modified crap. And I want the 360 version for the exclusive DLC.

My information is that only the names of the drugs have been changed in the new submitted version. Could be wrong, but I'd bet that was the only problem.

ill still perhaps try and order it online now, as it might be easier to get through customs.

All the strategy guies etc, will say "Use your Paracetamol" and we'll all be "WTF is that called in our version!"

Thank god for the 18 rating in the UK, BBFC are really good with age ratings most of the time.

11 - Excellent News!
I will definitely be buying this now as i was thinking of importing it but now there is no need *even though it is cheaper*. And if it is any of my concern nothing of great content would have been cut probably just the names of the morphine and maybe how they look on the wrist watch thingy :)...

I hope people don't go and do a GTA4 on us now and complain about stuff being cut and so forth only to import it and find out that only one minor thing was cut hehe....

yeah lol, importing GTA4 was a massive mistake. Ah well.

Although if Fallout is released very close to the other dates around the world, i might be forced to import :P
