I'm happy to announce we have finalized our release plans for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation. On the week of October 14th, you'll be able to pick up one of the following versions of SOCOM: Confrontation in North America.

I think a lot of people underestimate this title. Socom had a huge following on PS2 that has no other option but to migrate to PS3 if they want to play this title. It will be a system seller. Sony better start stocking up on bundles.

The PSN version should be cheaper than the Disc, cos you can resell the disc after a while. I'll probably get the Blu-Ray version though anyway.

LittleBigPlanet and SOCOM are 2 different types of games, so I guess Sony figured that it wasn't going to hurt either game if they released them both in the same month.

Me too... I enjoy having a disc version to include in my collection. I wanted to get the blu tooth... but I think I need to save my gaming dollars, especially if this is coming out around the same time as LBP and Bioshock. The PS3 is earning a lot of my 'extra' money this fall/winter!

with LBP, Bioshock and Socom. It's going to be an expensive time for gaming. Who says the PS3 has not games.

Also, I'm going to take option #1 and drop deuces on the competition. The blutooth set is sweet.

EDIT: I forgot about Naruto: Ultimate Storm. I really hope Namco implements online multiplayer into the game.

Resistance 2...well I didn't forget that.

yeah, I also need to play Bioshock again (played on the xbox 360). I am also getting Fable 2, and Little Big Planet that month also. Oh and let not forget Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, and Resistance 2 around the same time also. So yeah, it look like I will just be getting the 40 dollar version, and try to buy the mic separate on Ebay or Amazon some time down the road.

I've not had a game yet on PS3 where the VOIP has worked correctly. Oh maybe resistance did but I didn't have a headset at that point. But motorstorm - garbled noise, warhawk - garbled noise most of the time (so I'm not confident that other people can hear me). Can anyone help me out? Is it my wireless router settings do you think? Or my shoddy connection? Or the games themselves?

What kind of mic are you using? A usb mic work just fine, without any problem (that the one I have). But some Bluetooth mic have problems.

It's not that. It's that I can't hear _other_ people talking (just garbled noise). I don't know if they can hear me, but they probably can't. I'm just using my playstation eye.

11.2 - It's a bit like MGO
But with more responsive controls and more focus on deathmatch. You don't really need to unload a whole clip of ammo on your opponents to kill them. Good game.

Anyway,Team Sneak is the best mode in MGO.

I think I'll go for the Blu-Ray bundle, I have a headset but that one looks really nice though the download version is tempting just to be able to fire it up without taking out another game disc. One of the strengths of the PS Network giving us the option (though I'm sure that comment will earn me disagree's from the Xbox fans)

kind of is a bummer. It's hard on the wallet and even harder to find time to give each game the attention they deserve. One or more games always get ignored. Socom Confrontation hopefully wont be ones of those games for me.

I hope the sixaxis use for leaning round corners works well.

Also get the headset version as SOCOM is releasing with the official PS3 headset, which in the stand doubles up as a mic.

You can adjust the SIXAXIS' sensitivity so that should help a lot.

I just hope that once you start to lean, you dont have to lean back in order to move again, otherwise a lot of people will be getting killed because of that.

The warhawk headset is one of the cheapest and best headsets out there. It is light charges in less than one hour. last a long time between charges. But I think this one is going to trump anything out there. I recommend it to everyone. You don't want to play SOCOM without a headset. Because you need it for team strategy. SOCOM is not for noobs.
