True but I don't think anyone sees this as a problem. The tracks are absolutely huge and for it to be locked at 30 fps even in multiplayer Split-Screen modes is just awesome.

Sony made it a big deal saying that all PS3 games were going to run at 60fps minumum and some at 120 fps.. Saying how 1080p will be native resoultions for all PS3 games. So another case of Sony over promising and under delivering!

It's nothing like Forza or GT both in style, gameplay or even what it is. They're both "racers", but they're by no means the same.

Motorstorm has a lot of track deformation, a lot of racers at once and really amazing level of detail in what is essentially an arcade racer.

Cahill, NBA Home Street Court is full 1080p on the 360. As well as Virtua Tennis 3. And FIFA Street.

Granted though, they are also full 1080p on the PS3 as well, and are just sports games that don't even have too much going on anyway.

Here, just look at the list. PSN games are mostly 1080p though which is great.

Motorstorm:PR will be awesome, with proper terrain deformation this time, not just the mud. The monster truck looks awesome!

Yes it is, but keeping it locked at 30fps with 4 player splitscreen is good news. However, some folks are right. Why couldn't they just have made it 60fps in single player, and then just downgrade it to 30fps in splitspcreen.

They said they are having to limit the visual affects in 4 player split screen so as to keep the frame rate up. So in single player they are keeping the frame rate but upping the visuals.

Lol, compare the Forza gameplay with Motorstorm gameplay. Motorstorm 2 is bigger, car damage goes a lot further, has less jaggies, looks better upclose, Motorstorm 1 looked better then Forza 2 graphically and GT5p runs at 1080p 60FPS and makes Forza 2 look dated. Forza 2 looked terrible and it had a mountain of jaggies. I can't believe what I'm hearing.

It's quite possible to run a game on PS3 at 120fps. But pretty much every developer feels that is unnecessary. So instead they improve the graphics, maybe resolution as well - by running it at 1/4 of the framerate you can effectively increase the number of polygons on screen by a factor of 4. So yes, if MGS4, uncharted, GT5 had had the graphics of your bog-standard 360 game, they could, under the same engines, run at 60fps and maybe even at 120fps. But the devs made the decision to run those games at 30/60 fps instead in order to improve the graphics.

This article was in 2005, it also says:

"Never mind that even newer TVs aren't capable of refreshing the screen 120 times in a single second. Kutaragi said that when new technology comes to market, he hopes to have the PS3 ready to take advantage of it".

You can find those TVs since 2006 I think. Now, games at 120fps depend on the skills of the developers and how good they get to work with it. I am 100% sure that it will happen and that game will be developed by a Japanese company.

Please! cut the crap with the "they promised 120fps" bs, he said it was possible he never promised.
