I don't know why anyone thought Wardevil got canceled. Wardevil.com has everything you need to know and it is confirmed to release in 2009.

I'm not sure who the publishers are but you don't need to worry about it going multi-platform. The 360 version never even went into development and now it's canceled. http://search.ign.com/produ... All the footage we've seen was running on PS3 hardware. 1080p native / 60 fps.

They're also working on a CGI Wardevil film and it might come bundled with the game.

Yes I think they are focusing their efforts on just PS3 so they can hit their 1080p60fps target. I can only presume they chose PS3 because of its superior tech. specifications. That said, we should see this game in late 2009 at the earliest, probably will still come out in 09 BUT I can't see what they are bringing to the table with wardevil. I mean, I presume it's just a hack-and-slash like we've seen hundreds of times before, and their only aim seems to be "make it look like a pre-rendered cinematic at 1080p60fps". Which is great, but we know how much games get criticised for having pretty graphics, even if they are a good game underneath, because they don't innovate or something. (killzone 2....)

I'm just glad we're getting news before the end of the year. I really want to know more about the story, because if the gameplay is generic hack-n-slash, then the story's the only thing that'll get me to buy this game.

actually the reason why its exclusive to the PS3 is because sony bought the rights to the RET 1080 Engine...thus making Sony the "suposed" publisher

Yes I agree. Same with 1080p, it only makes a difference if you have a huge tv or are sat right close to it. I'm sure GT5 looks so clean and plays smoothly because it _is_ 1080p/60fps, but I can't help but think that it could look even better with more anti-aliasing if it ran at 30fps. But... I don't agree about better logic/AI as a result of dropping the framerate. Because it really wouldn't make much difference, even if you were running your game at 60fps, to have the AI running at 30fps, then it would say "I would like to run to position A" and the animation code (part of the graphics) would handle it running there at 60fps. Same goes for physics, to a certain extent, you can either interpolate between frames to get the 60fps, or use a lower order integration algorithm (would be quicker and simpler) which, because it is running with smaller time intervals, will yield better results than if it were running at 30fps, where you'd need the higher order algorithm to get physics that look correct.

racing games are one of the few that need to be running at 60 fps. when youre driving really fast, 30 fps is really noticable, Action games and FPS games are all good with 30 fps.

I for the most part agree with you. Ever since they changed the main characters design it's been looking meh to me. Even his main weapon looks quite lame. I know it's a action game and i love action games but this just doesn't stir my tastes up. Specially if it goes head to head with Bayonetta next year and GoW3.
