No headset with Warhawk 'GH' ; headset bundle lowered

Kim Nguyen, SCEA Marketing Manager, has revealed on the Playstation.Blog that Warhawk, now part of the "Greatest Hits" , will not come with a headset. When replying to user Babybludedb, Kim stated:

"The Greatest Hits Warhawk will not come with a headset. The $29.99 price only includes the game. However, we are lowering the price of the game bundled with the headset to $49.99 and you should see that price change shortly if not already at your local retailer."

Kind of a useless offer then. Is that what it costs online? I bought the disk version originally because it meant I could have multiple accounts but that's been allowed now. I don't use the headset, I use my PSEye whenever I want to talk. Headset was useless (not to mention that warhawk voice chat only works about 20% of the time for me, the other 80% I can hear other people talking to each other but to me it sounds like garbled noise).

1.1 - 29.99 is a great price for Warhawk
and if it weren't for school starting in less than 2 weeks, I'd pick up Warhawk right now.

i think its a good deal, the jabra bt125 (which comes with the warhawk bundle) sell in stores for $50 (last time i saw it there) so if you still dont have a headset or warhawk its a deal worth considering

I think it should've been lowered to $25 instead of $30. But still, it's a great game. Very addicting and has lots of fun moments.

I wasted my money for this crappy game. Terrible gameplay. Does anybody even play this garbage anymore? The times I was playing, there was only 1 or 2 other people in the level. What a joke.

8.1 - A lot of people still play this game buddy
I mean a lot. I can filter out levels and still have a long list of matches to join. I'm more then sure that won't change. Just because your bad at a game doesn't mean it sucks. Your post is laughable. You should play the game more often. The more I played it the more I liked it and got better at it. It takes awhile and a lot people give up on the game too early.

A. This game is great
B. Very addictive
C. Yes many people still play
D. Always good matches to join with very little lag
E. After reading all that I have stated above, how can anyone "who has played it" not like this game

one of the biggest mistake in my opinion is Sony not bundling headset with PS3

rogimusprime - 515 days 6 hours ago
9.1 - Nope,
you have to take the good and the bad. The XBOX 360 comes with a headset....but its wired.

I like the freedom of using the same bluetooth headset for my cell phone as I do with my PS3. If you have a good headset, its not really and issue.

It takes the PS3 all of 30 seconds to sync and use a new bluetooth headset.

Using the XBOX 360 headset is more of a chore to me. I only use it when necessary for COD4 teamwork stuff. Wireless=freedom

Yea the 360 headset is wired, but it attaches to the controller, which is wireless itself so its not an issue. I mean how far away are you from the controller where the wire on the 360 headset becomes an issue?

I agree with the op, not bundling a headset with the ps3 was a huge mistake. When you think about all of the high level add ons that came with the ps3 out of the box like wireless internet, rechargeable controller, blu ray etc., its a crime that they didn't include at least a cheap headset to go with it. Headsets aren't needed for most games, but they're a must have for multiplayer co-op games and big time fps games like resistance killzone and socom.

Rogimusprime, doesn't matter wireless or wired, in other word, Sony should have bundled headset (wired or wireless) with Ps3

9.4 - Suit yourself
@9.2 I don't want a wire. Plain and simple. Distance is not an issue. I couldn't care less what YOU want to play with. I use it since its free for XBOX, but on PS3...its bluetooth.

My point was that bluetooth technology is always changing, so you are always going to have people dissasatisfied by what is offered. Yes, I agree sony could have thrown in a headset to bolster the voice communication aspect of PSN...but then they would pass that cost on to ME, the consumer. Exactly how much red ink are they supposed to bleed before people realize they are trying to turn a profit at some point?

...but if I was given a choice, I would rather have an HDMI cable.

(what a stubborn bastard)

After two years and 6 months sony has still not released an offical headset for the PS3 and if they do they should bundle it inside the ps3(to get more people talking online) with hd cables then I will find a reason to buy it but for right now Ill stick with my PSP

Why should they if you can use most any blue-tooth head set, it saves in production costs. Besides its only been a year and a half, not 2.5

What does that have to do with the point i was trying to make. They did it that way probably so they could same money, as if their not loosing enough already. And i have a 20 with no headset so even if they did have and official one doesnt mean we wouldnt have to pay for it

11 - Technology retard coming through...
Okay... be easy on me, because I'm seriously debating picking up this warhawk bundle with the bluetooth headset. First question: is this headset supposed to be good? My friend bought a usb headset and it really kinda blows/works 1/2 the time.

Second: I have a motorola headset for my phone... that won't double for a headset for online play will it? Is it phone specific...? (*Flinches and waits for some serious hate*)

Edit: Yes, it's a bluetooth headset.

11.1 - no bud, you will be fine
Most bluetooth headsets allow multiple devices to be registerd to them. So you can use the same bluetooth headset on both your phone and the PS3. Plus, because the PS3 uses bluetooth, you can use any bluetooth headset you like and get 8 to 10 hrs of use on a charge.

12 - Does anyone know the list?
So Warhawk is lowered in price, anyone know of any others?

Like Lair, or Motorstorm, or Resistance?
Shut this user up Let user speak
rogimusprime - 515 days 4 hours ago
12.1 - yeah check IGN or circuit city
need for speed carbon, oblivion, motorstorm, resistance, ninja gaiden sigma, call of duty 3...cant remember the others.

No heavenly sword though.

I wish they would put uncharted on there as well.

I think there are 10 total

Maybe M$ will stop trying to sell Gears for $59 at target.
Who am I kidding...
