"Star Wars Fans, Get Out Your Wallets" - Namco

After confirmation of Vader and Yoda being put in both consoles versions of Soulcalibur IV, the question comes of.. how much will they charge you for what is most likely going to be included in the disc anyways ?

I'm not a huge fan of DLCs. There are some that are actually worth it but most are just an obvious attempt to make you pay more than the $60 price tag.

Agreed. Having DLC on day 1 of release or on the disc is just wrong in my opinion.

You guys love ripping people off. Charge for 100% finished characters that could of easily been added to the game for free or before it even hit stores.

But after Beautiful Katamari and these guys selling content that's already on the disc, I'm not surprised. Scum bags.

I really hope no one buys this DLC.

Not only that, look at the DLC for Ace Combat 6. 200 points for a paint job on a plane. And Tekken Dark Res patch $10 to play online? Seriously Namco sucks ass.

4 - I am satisfied
with Vader. No additional expenses for me.

Btw,has anyone seen the finishers for the Sith and Jedi in the game, they are the best.

you got that... i got an Xbox, so i definitely will be getting the DLC for Vador..

but let me ask you this... what if its a pack with other Star Wars characters included others... you telling me you wouldn't shell out if it includes Grevious or the Emperor? what about the sickest baddest mo fo in the star wars galaxy... DARTH MAUL!!

4.2 - Even though that
is highly unlikely,a Sith pack would be really cool. Still,I don't think I would get it because I am not very comfortable with online transactions yet. But who knows....
I was thinking,if you got those characters,it would become Masters of Terras Kasi 2.

One thing I would really like to see would be the master of The Emperor, one of the greatest Siths, who went beyond the light and dark side of the force.

For me Darth vader is still the best. Darth Maul is cool though.

Have they announced Yoda and Vader as DLC?

This video only proves it's possible, but they haven't announced anything yet...

9 - This is f*cking disgusting............
Charging because they know some people will shell out extra for what SHOULD be in the game already.

All Namco had to do was to have an unlockable in there to earn the 'extra' characters.......play the game for 20 hours and you unlock Vader/Yoda - not to hard is it.

Dont get me started on 'horse armour'........

11 - *shakes head*
first they didn't release tekken 6 yet(freaking 3 years namco),then they didn't add rumble for the PS3 which been out for a f_cking year and now this. This is just pathetic they have seriously gone too far its not enough that the game cost well over 60 dollars but they're charging people 5 or more dollars for characters like r2d2??????? I can buy s full psn game thats more then worth 5 dollars before I shall out my hard earned on some GD characters that should have been unlock able in the game in the first place!

Edit: I bet Namco plan on making a killing off of star fans who must have everything star wars and the 360 and Ps3 owners who want vader or yoda. But honestly alot of gamers wanted this I don't know how many times I read on a gaming site and saw a 360 owner say
"I hope you can download vader yoda sucks so much"
or "I bet there's going to be DLC for the 360 version"

I understand expansions and all, but DLC pisses me off. I feel like I've only been given a part of the game, and now I have to fork out extra just to have every feature.

13 - I wish they didn't do this.
I had full payment on the ps3 version because of Darth vader. But now I'm going to get the 360 version because of the achievements, rumble and to be able to play as Vader.

To me this kind of hurts Sony with customers who have both the 360 and PS3.

13.1 - imao
your getting the 360 version for all the wrong reasons.Did you consider the "D-pad" by getting a joypad? Are you honestly willing to pay 5 more bucks for an unlockable character that's already on the disc? If achievements, rumble and paying 5 bucks for vader out weigh having vader already playable, the "D-pad" no rumble(hey maybe an update on release) in your fighting games eh whatever floats your boat :P

If I could get more for my money no matter how little it may seem like Achievements and Rumble than I'm going to do it. Don't get me wrong I do have payment on the PS3 version but only because of Vader. No trophies, No Rumble and now Darth Vader could be on the 360.

It's my choice and Vader just sealed the deal for me to get the 360 version.

I don't know if you only have one system. But this is the reason I have multiple systems. So I could have choices of what I want.

That is what gamers do and fanboys just argue about stupid sh!t.

it was just my arrogant opinion, wasn't tryin to convince you not to buy the 360 version(sry if it sounded like it) im not a fanboy had an elite got a wii and ps3.I was really just trying to protect you from cheap yoda users on live....maybe I should of said that in the first place >_>

omg people complaining for 5 bucks, if they will be forcing to buy this DLC...IT'S YOUR CHOICE!!! if you don't want it, DON BUY IT, naaaa i want all free, naaaaa online gaming must be free, naaaa i hate DLC.....it's just a god damn character, OMG 5 DOLLARS!!!...cheaper than a good beer. You'll see my people, when you grow up like real men and find a real job and get a real life then you won't be crying for just one DLC that cost 5 bucks

The problem is not the price, but the fact that you get an intentional crippled game so they can milk you for freaking unlock codes. I have zero probs with additional DOWNLOAD content at a reasonable price. But when someone tries to sell me stuff that is already on the disk i just bought for $60+ i feel cheated.

15 - is there
an option to pay for the ps3 not to have yoda at all. he is a cheap character that ruins gameplay, as someone who is a fan of soul calibur i'm really angry that yoda is added at all to any version.

I would rather ps3/360 have vader and no yoda because he trhows off the balance of the game.

If this game didn't have online play i wouldn't even be buying it imo the series has gone downhill no matter what reviewers say.

When was this confirmed and where are you guys getting this $5 price from? Other then the youtube video Namco has not confirmed anything.

I think people are jumping the gun a little bit.

I didn't hear anything about paying 5 dollars and for all we know it could be a time release on the other characters. Like if you played the game for a 100 hours or something.

16.2 - $5? what are u people even talkin about?
There is no 'confirmation' of DLC at all. These bums are just whining about nothing. That video could easily be the game played on one of Namco's test PC's for all we know. Is any1 gonna tell me how they know that both these characters are already on the discs? No cos as far as any1 who hasn't made the game knows, you have no idea if they're both on the disc. Did u people watch that video and think 'it's clear beyond doubt that both of those characters must be on the retail discs of both versions'. Considering that it hasn't even been confirmed as DLC don't u ppl reckon u should stop dummy-spitting about having to pay when, if it ever happens, it could be free anyway for all u ignoramuses know?

What is that bull u just linked me 2? That's some crummy site that says 'the Vader is supposedly going to be a download add-on.' Supposedly meaning they don't actually have a clue. It says it's direct from Namco but as of now they haven't issued a statement confirming this at all! That's just a site claiming they have heard from Namco but have no proof. Like I said, it's Namco using in-development material. Paco feel free to link me to actual confirmation not a post on a site saying 'this is direct from Namco' cos that's not fact my friend

18 - Chances are... it will be used as an unlock when you purchase The Force Unleashed ...
If you have a save of something you will be able to play as Vader, this makes much better sense as Lucas arts obviously are not profiting from Soul Calibur and using it as a form of Viral marketing, within another game. It could also be a test bed for both characters and would be pretty good to be able to get characters from both series unlock in each others games. Lucasarts are guilty of this too, how many times have people bought the Star Wars trilogy (The original ones) on VHS/DVD and possibly another pocket pincher on Blue Ray!?! That’s how these companies make money, I don't agree with having content on the disk that you later have to pay to unlock as those companies are exploiting gamers, I believe this is something MS and SONY should step on to help with loyalty to a fan base also. Imagine if you really did have to download the extra cars in Burnout Revenge or Dead Rising... we are not idiots so if Developers treat us like that they only harm themselves. I have to admit, I would get Vader to complete this package but only if it was free. Nightmare was always my fav Soul Calibur Character! Especially with the heart pumping out of his chest!

19 - DLC isn't DLC
When you're merely paying to unlock a feature already on the game... that's really low. I hate every aspect of it... This sux that they are doing this.

But to play Vader, I'll be laying down the damn money to do so... Might erk some of you but I'm a Yoda-fan; yet, I mean come on, I can't say no to Vader.
