360 is $100 cheaper and it only outsold PS3 by 7,000 units. Last week was the price drop and that was the small spike it did in sales. Next week the sales for the 360 will come down a bit and the PS3 might still outsell it next week. Im going to say the PS3 will outsell the 360 this month.

If someone use the same comment when the PS3 outsells the 360 by less than 10,000 in some weeks prior to the 360 clearance sale. You would have disagreed with it. Can you say hypocrite.

Com on guys. Please stop believing these numbers.
Last month VG has PS3 beating the 360 by small numbers.
Then NDP arrives and we see that it had almost double the sales.
And that's US only.

My guess is the PS3 did 200k+. And guess what, that guess is just as good as VG numbers.

the 360 actually outsold the ps3 this week? lol what happened there? First time since october 2007, i think some congratulations are in order. Was the 360 price cut last week? If so then, thats less impressive. It doesn't take a fool to know if 360 and ps3 were the same price, what one would sell more. Considering ps3 has always been more expensive and has practically always sold more, except this week. Enjoy the moment

360 price cut was last week, that's why 360 US sales are so high. Although some people on VGChartz commented that the sales were just from people waiting to buy the 360 when the price was cut (meaning previous weeks' sales were even lower than they usually are)

Americans don't care about where something is made. We buy more Japanese cars, Chinese products, more Wii's, and back in the day we even bought more PS2's.

We buy things for two reaons: quality and price. Also, because of our lack of loyalty to US made products and our wealth the US is a good barometer for how the world market and Europe will trend.

I know a lot of my friends parents buying a ps3 cause of the addition of blueray. Nobody in their right mind would spend 300 on a 360 just cause you can stream movies online with netflix. PS3 just had it's "Halo" release (MGS4) if these turn of events really caused this type of *CHANGE* just wait untill the AAA's are shown/released.

Halo is going to hurt Sony bad; I fear it's going to be on par with KillZone2(graphically) but with a better story and in third person.

It's more of a massive clearance. People I know who got a 360 simply wanted to get one before it returned to its old price.

And as for the Netflix deal, I suppose most people (the casual gamers) don't realize they need a gold membership in addition to netflix membership for it to work.

LOL just wait till lpb is released, it already confirmed to be a AAA game, miyamoto confirmed it himself. Metal gear soliud was not the only reason why the ps3 outsold the 360. If i remember well the ps3 out sold the 360 in may,february, and january without metal gear solid. And with metal gear solid it outsold it 2-1.

And your wishing hoping and wishing that the next halo would look on par with killzone, but we all know that wont happen cause there not one 360 game that looks better then any ps3 game out right now. face it POG, the 360 is maxt out graphically.

Agree'd to the 360 not having much stamina. La Chance, it's becoming habitual that you try to spin everyones words against the 360. He's not saying anything good or bad about games period, he's not talking about anything other than the numbers -- the 360 had a slight win over ps3 for 1 week out of 52 weeks, I'm sure we've seen that happen prior to this last week as well.

i gotta admit, that was a genius move on Sony.... to bundle in MGS4 with the new PS3 that also has DS3 and BC.....

i mean it was the only way to make MGS4 look like a system seller.

but with only about 2.5 million in sales for MGS4 after one month...
Gears 2 will show the world how a real blockbuster game sells.

yes they do, who do you think Wii sports is always in the top three in worldwide sales each week?
it's also the ONLY reason that average racing game on PS3 is on record to have sold over 3 million... because they were giving the game away and counted it as a sold unit.... (stupid stupid sonykids...)

and you could try and defend PS3s ONLY exclusive AAA (for now) to come out and put it against a new IP like Gears which has sold more than double the amount MGS4 has sold...FACT.. but why don't you put it against a known Xbox franchise like Halo 3 that broke all records in one day sales.. and after its first week completely sh1tted on MGS4 combined sales to date.

and yes I will compare MGS4 to Halo3 and Gears 1, because these are the BIG exclusives and all three have been rated 94 on metacritic.com

Anyway. You will be telling a lie if you didn't think 360 wasn't going to sell over 200K worldwide for at least 1 week after a $299 price tag. Seriously, PS3 outsold the Wii worldwide a few weeks back. Over 330K in one week worldwide. This was with limited bundles and a couple of retailers giving gift cards.

This $299 (across the board) is clearance. Yes this is vgchartz (which may be incorrect), but still. What does this tell you? It tells me that either people have no trust in 360 hardware at any price, or aren't willing to pay for a "clearance 360".

With $299 and $279 SKU's in America, EU SKU's that are cheaper than Wii and PS3: and still fail to outsell Wii or PS3 by a large margin worldwide?

You can keep bringing up those pathetic sales from years ago; comparing newly released game sales to old overrated ones like a loser. We will see what a year of sales will look like. What about Ninja Gaiden 2? Or Frontlines? You know 2008 games? Oh, I guess they both failed the attatch rate test. LMAO.

let me see.... Playstation BEST selling and highest rated franchise comes to the Xbox 360 and outsold the ps3 version 2-1, gets true HD rez with 2xAA compared to ps3 with SUB hd and no AA, and on top of that we got exclusive episodes coming in 2008 and 2009.

That was the worst excuse of a game anyone has played period. It was so boring and repetitive most people stopped doing the missions when they unlocked the last island. Who wants even more of that (in which they even have to pay more for)? I know I sure don't, if I wanted more of that crap I'd finish beating the game.

Not to mention the buildings. How far down the road did you walk before the buildings started being drawn to your screen? 2 blocks? oh... 2 buildings you say?

Has it ever occurred to you that the PS3 version lacked those certain things because they didn't want one version to be better than the other? They tried to make them as equal as possible. Take a look at both games, PS3 version minus all those things that 360 version has, and it still runs better and looks exactly the same -- I'd hate to see what the PS3 version looked like with those other features such as AA etc. etc.

It's ridiculous how you bring up these games, and it's hilarious that the main excuse any 360 owner has is, "oh it hasn't come out yet". If the PS3 had come out 3 years ago instead of 2, it would be out, therefor we get an extra year to compensate for the 1 year "head-start" (which is where microsoft needs to be by the way). So quit your b!tchin and get with the program. (It's ok, I know you'll spin this somehow saying it was Sony's fault they didn't rush things and how Sony continues to sell PS2's past the 120million console mark, but just so you know, it does happen this way). And if we're trying to be fair that's how it's set up. And if you don't want to be fair -- keep comparing MGS4 to Halo3 or GeoW2 even though we all know MGS4 didn't combat either one of the games. R2/KZ2 will combat those games and we will see come February noob.

By the end of the console war you will have sold your 360 and own a ps3 OR kept your 360 and still own a ps3.
