This is REALLY bad news. This game is awesome, I want it now, and it is finished, but I can't play it because it is blisteringly fast and bright and WOW? That's why I WANT the game! They are going to have to seriously change the graphical style of the game now in order to tone it down. And that's going to take some time. And it's going to be worse off because of it. If you suffer from epilepsy, DON'T PLAY WIPEOUT! Surely wipeout can't be worse than any nightclub you might go into? I hate these rules... bah.

I can just imagine it... they'd finished the game, and were just waiting for a classification and they got told it failed the epilepsy tests. It would have been already released. Such a shame.

Because induced epileptic fits can occur to anyone under proper circumstances. This game currently is significantly above the general curve for epileptic safety that most games with labels have. (the difference between 10% of the population vs .01%)
Once you have one though you are susceptible for life - so inducing a life altering and threatening condition to just sell a game is basically evil (and lawsuit worthy).

some people are not aware that they could have a seizure induced by the game, because they have no history of seizures. so a warning label is not enough... the game needs to be deemed safe in the first place.

Most people who play games don't realize how much QA goes into avoiding inducing things like motion sickness, Epilepsy, and other induced physiological phenomenon .
It we released games without all this testing ... it's actually scary to contemplate.

There is actually a defect type for that when writing a bug up for QA, it is called a Hazzard. If a game makes your players sick then you might want to fix that.

Epilepsy occured for the Halo fans who were sent as lab rats to test a strong PS3 title.They could not fully absorb the amazing speed in full 1080p glory,a PS3 comodity that is never shown in their system.I'm excited that this game will be for the individuals with quick reflexes and strong senses unlike the xbots who are too busy playing with dolls and coloring books
