GT5P: Damage Modeling Still in the Works

Ripten:

"Earlier in the year, Polyphony Digital founder Kazunori Yamauchi (now of GT:TV fame, Top Gear next) mentioned that "maybe by Fall we'll be able to implement it [ie. damage modeling]," and confirming that it would be included as a patch to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Their plans haven't changed."

so true. Polyphony Digital craves for perfection and you know they won't release this just for the heck of it. Once damage is added I'll go pick this game up

Its more of balancing the workload of making GT5 and tweaking GT5P. I hope we get to see damage sooner than later. I heard GT5 might be last in the series and polyphony will just be adding updates from there. So i really hope they get everything they want like weather effects, damage modelling, customization, car auctioning e.t.c.

1.3 - Can't blame them if this is the last...
...the game looks absolutely amazing. I've had people think GT was a television show until I paused the game. If they do it right, which I have no doubts that they will, updating the game with add-on content is all they will need to do after this game drops.

For this game in particular it's VERY hard for me to see the graphics getting better then this. The only thing they could possible do in my eyes to improve the graphics is to make the spectators look more realistic and react to the race. For example if you crash too close to them they move away from your car or try to avoid being hit.

I don't care how long it takes. Nothing on any console feels like GT5P. And with them upping the ante with expanded GT5 TV I can't wait, but I will anyway.

3 - I may have to Rebuy GT5p when this is released
I traded it in for MGS4 since i was short 10 bucks :(

Anyways its good to hear its still in the works and if PD keep surtporting Prologe with new track and free stuff then it should make the long wait for GT5 a bit shorter

Hmmm what im afraid of is that the damage modeling won't be on par wit how good the game looks. If they get modeling it better not be like forza's...

They are focusing on GT5, once they have the dev's create damage modeling for GT5 they can just apply that to GT5P. They're not taking time away from development.

It will happen and I'm pretty sure their damage-mode feature will be benchmarked by other developers.

To those who have'nt ( yet ) seen the new Ferrari California and the most famous Nurburgring which is going to be featured in the GranTurismo Series here is the link --- ( http://www.ferraricaliforni... )

I don't know if this is only a marketing ploy by Sony/Polyphony and Ferrari but with that driver not wearing a helmet and racing suit makes me think that if they implemented that in the game, we'll be able to get to choose the look and apparel of each driver... what do you think?
