No visual differences between PS3, PC and Xbox 360 in Call of Duty: World at War

PCGH says there are no visual differences in Call of Duty 5 between the versions for Xbox 360, PS3 and the PC. They refer to the statement of Cesar Stastny, who is responsible for the development of the PC version.

Early days for such a claim. But the engine has proven itself on all formats.

PC will obviously still out do it's console counterpart, higher res, more AA etc, but obviously again, with that comes a much higher price tag.

I think we all would agree COD4 is a great looking game on what ever platform, COD5 shouldn't be anything but better (flames/smoke/water already look great).

Edit: wonder why the disagrees? because I said the PC will look better? LOL....

@Blademask of course that is what they think. They think HD gaming started when the 360/PS3 came out. They don't bother to do a bit of research and find out that PC's have been doing games in HD eqivulent resolutions for nearly 8 years now.

@Fishy Fingers at least now you know why the developers are going around screaming "it's okay everything looks the same no matter what system you own", to single out a system and say the game looks better on that format is just inviting death threats. Anyway agree's for both of you.

I realise that, I understand that with the amount of effort and work that goes into the consoles to get them to look fantastic, that they should be equally acknowledged.

But a case in point, COD4, Consoles were 640p 2-4xAA I believe. PC offered 3 times that resolution, 3 times that amount of anti alising, plus all the other bells and whistles. Yet people believe it didnt look better? Plus it even allowed more online combatants.

I'm not knocking the consoles here at all, I actually spent more time on COD4 on the console as apposed to the PC, but I'm not going to sit here and kid myself into saying the console is better because thats what the majority of N4G want to hear.

with you Fishy. I love all my consoles but when a couple of my friends are running quad cores, dual graphics cards, with 6GB of RAM - it's a hard point to agrue sometimes;)

IW needs to go back to PC only and update this franchise! COD2 on the PC looks as good as COD4 on the PC, less some particle effects. Its just sad how consoles are detrimental to graphical advancement.

pc fans are very brainwashed in the thinking pc is just king of everything when there are no exclusive pc games that prove that the 10GB of ram on latest pc gpus have outdone ps3, its not showing, we still have better looking games by a mile that beat the best pc has, get out

well it could be worse you could fall for the tall tale of 1080p @ 60fps that a certain company kept spinning and has since been shown to be a load of rubbish. However most independent people will tell you there is NOTHING out there that touches Crysis for graphics, you just refuse to accept that.

Yes GIN everyone is paid by Crytek, anyone that says Crysis is the benchmark graphical have been paid of by Crytek. The entire net again been paid off by Crytek.

If you honestly believe that then there is no hope for you. Most reasonably minded people will say that NOTHING comes anywhere near Crysis in terms of graphics. You fail to accept that so personally I have to wonder are you paid off by Sony then ?
