Less than a year and a new one is out. Well at least they didn't doddle, but at the same time I'm not much could have been added or what bad things taken away.

However, I don't think that a Rock Band 3 in 2009 or even in 2010 could be well received.

This is why I will not buy Rock Band 2, Im getting Guitar Hero on Tour, it will allow you to lay down tracks and trade songs with you buddies.

Seriously, ask yourself why they really need to do this.

With DL content there is absolutely no reason for a sequel to this game right now. They are doing this so they can stop releasing DLC for Rock Band and only release it for Rock Band 2. So when your favorite song finally gets released you first have to go pick up RB2 and then pay for the DLC.

I think it's good to see the Wii not getting extremely short-changed here. Although, it's only a little over 6 months between the release of the first Rock Band and the sequel for the platform.

Yeah the delay isn't that long. I am surprised, though, that Harmonix isn't pushing to get the game out for all platforms on or before Guitar Hero: World Tour ships

This is one game where I don't mind there being no voice chat. I find it distracting in music games to have people BS'ing on the headset during a song

As a vocalist I'd really REALLY like to have a say in what song the group picks online. If I don't already know the song I have to do it on Easy and just wing it through which is pretty embarrassing.

I'd honestly like to get to listen to vocalists online and see just how well their doing.

I think the reason you can not hear the vocalists online is because of latency issues. The vocals will always behind on the instruments if you play online. It is the same reason you can not hear the free style drum fills, they just won't line up. Hopefully they will find a way around it with RB2 though.

well it has a lot to do with money, Microsoft writes a PAycheck to EA, EA Delivers. But knowing EA, they probably force Microsoft to do a 2 month exclusive instead of 6 months, cause they know the wii and PS3 will make them a load of money as well.

and to think about it, i dont mind the delay, i want them to work on the PS3 and make the game flawless.

GHWT has the custom music feature but it can't overcome everything that makes RB better than GH. I think the custom music thing will be little more than a simple novelty. Its going to be very limited. No vocals and its all going to be mixing and matching the same canned instrument samples. It won't be robust enough for real musicians and novices probably won't be able to create anything worthwhile. Just guessing based on previous video game music creating software.

RB is just better IMO. I'm going to wait for RB2 on PS3. Just because its a few weeks late thats not enough of a reason for me to jump ship "out of spite"... But I don't worship any brand so I didn't get my feelings hurt by the timed exclusivity. If you buy an inferior product just out of brand loyalty then thats sad. Sony isn't your mom you don't need to hold a petty grudge over something so small.

There is absolutely no way i am getting GH:WT over RB2. I can wait the little extra time.

Between myself, my wife, and my friends we have over 140 songs available to play on our current Rock Band on PS3. Since RB2 is backwards compatible with RB1's songs and instruments I am more then willing to wait so I can keep my current setlist. However I might actually upgrade the drums to the new set. But I like the guitars I have currently. I am sure a lot of people will be doing the same exact thing as me.

Besides if GH sticks to its same formula then they will grossly over charge for title tracks.

You dont have to waste money on more intruments. Your current instruments will work with Rock Band 2, so you just need the disc. Plus, any songs you have downloaded will transfer over.

Actually that does make perfect sense. If I were the devs there is no way in the world I want to go head to head with Gears 2. This is one of the instances where different having genres doesn't matter. Anything released around it will fail on the 360. <sales wise not gameplay wise>

let me get this straight, according to you two GOW2 Nov. release = automatic fail for anything released for 360 that month? Just so you guys know not everyone is looking at GOW2 to be the end all be all game. Plus you said PS3 doesn't have anything releasing good in that time, are you kidding me, Bioshock, Resistance 2, Valkyria Chronicles, Tekken 6 and those are just the exclusives not counting all the multi plats both systems are getting that month. Oh yeah Motorstorm 2 drops end of October too.....

Wow, you sure like to twist words.
1. No one said anything about PS3 not having good games coming out, or at least I didn't.
2. We were refering to the 360 early release.
3. If you don't think that Gears is not a blockbuster seller for the 360 then that is your opinion and their is no need to bash.
4. Why would you put Bioshock and Tekken 6 on there. Tekken does not sell well, great fighting game yes, and my personal fav. Bioshock will not sell well on PS3 because of Resistance 2.
