Game Freaks 365: Metal Gear Solid 4 Review

What a package. Game Freaks 365 didn't even touch on Metal Gear Online, the multi-player aspect of Metal Gear Solid 4 that allows for all kinds of different online modes, including a Snake-vs.-everyone match. It is still the single-player that will have you most enthralled. Everything about this game, from the graphics and cut-scenes to the voice acting and past references, will have you begging for more. Metal Gear Solid 4 is a fitting conclusion to the entire franchise.

that would entail that this game is damn near perfect...come on now there has never been a game that is that perfect....it would equate to .2 percent wrong with the game and that is not EVEN the case...not a fanboy..just saying that this game, nor no game can live up to a 9.8 EVER

Who in the hell said that I thought Halo 3 deserved a perfect score...(Halo 3= close to perfect multiplayer etc.., but not perfect) just be honest with yourself and admit that no game in history...(maybe Shadow of the Colosus) deserves a 9.8 ..Im just sick of everyone kissing Kojima's as$ honestly...he's not THAT GOOD

dude, HALO 1 ,HALO 2 ,HALO 3 multiplayer is nowhere near perfect.. because when HALO 4 comes out with better features and better graphics people will play HALO 4..

but some games Like Counter strike 1 are NEAR perfect that EVEN counter strike source (2) cant beat that ... get my point .. even Valve cant make sth better than Counter strike orginal..

HALO multiplayer is just good,fun .. nothin more..in every sequel it gets better ..

what about MGS4 .. makin a single player game better than MGS4 with 30 HOURS of entertaining is near impossible ( cuz of labour,COST and time ) believe it or not MGS4 deserve 10 or atleast 9.8

It depends on what they are rating on. I think some reviews rate a game by overall how good the game is 10 being a crown jewl, redefining the genre etc etc. Others score based on entertainment value. It's easier to give a game a 10 in entertainment value/fun factor compared to giving it a 10 overall as in "Top 10 material". Just depends on how the person is rating it in my opinion.

I agree to an extent, but nowadays, a 7/10 is considered mediocre, and 6/10 a failure.

MGS4 is a damn good game, and by todays rating system, deserves what it got.

3 - How can any of you guys call yourselves gamers??
9.8 out of 10 means that there were only one or two flaws with the WHOLE and I mean WHOLE game (too long cut scenes, drawn out dialogue, mediocre Boss battles (compared to previous MGS games, Sub-Par Enemy AI,..I could go on and on) My point was clearly stated in my original post in that.....

no game can live up to a 9.8 EVER

...clear your eyes from FanBoy Blindness and see that this is not bashing, but truth

It is because your opinion is exactly just that, an opinion. Your views about cut-scenes, dialogue, boss, battles, etc. aren’t shared by the reviewers. I, for one, agree with the reviews that MGS4 is the best game to come out in recent years and deserves every perfect score it gets. If GTA4 and Halo 3 can get perfect scores for being a mediocre game, then why do you get so mad about MGS4 getting the same scores?

EDIT: Halo 3 and GTA4, in my opinion, didn't not live up to their scores; MGS4, however, is a totally different case.

3.2 - Why is it...
...that just because a game scores 9.8 or 10/10 that it must be perfect. Just what exactly is gaming perfection?

I play some games and think to myself that its worth a 10/10 because I had a great time playing it. Kind of like watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Are they perfect...nope, but I'd still give them close to being 10/10 as everything came together to deliver a great experience.

MGS4 is just that in my opinion, a game where the experience is greater than the sum of its parts.

just why are you here again?? are u trying to convince all of us here that you think MGS4 is NOT GOOD?? is it? you think...it's an opinion, reviews are also opinions! so just what makes you think that your opinion is also anybody else's opinion? it's opinion vs opinion and it's no definitive winner for it! but I'll go with this opinion and other 10s of perfect opinions before that MGS4 is indeed an AWESOME game and it deserves all the praise it can get!

9.8 out of 10 or 10 out of 10 does not mean the experience is greater than the sum of all parts...or that MGS4 is a totally different case.....Scores this high would entail no things wrong with the game ...that includes all aspects (multiplayer THE BEST, Single player campain THE BEST, graphics THE BEST, Enemy AI THE BEST, weapons THE BEST, and with MGS4 this is simply NOT SO.......I ask you all to look at this game from a NON-BIASED Point of View

If you think Halo 3 or GTA4 had the BEST graphics, multi-player, single-player, story, sound, game play, etc. you're in denial.

You're the one who is biased. Just because MGS4 was released you want all reviewers to change the way they review games. I do agree somewhat that reviewers need to stop giving out 10’s for every over hyped game that releases. However, MGS4 surpassed all my expectations so far. I can only wish that I can say the same about other games that get a 10/10 rating.

i think kojima tired of saying that this game is for "MGS FANS"....

but still ppl like your tried to point out how cutscenes were way too long...

tell me one thing why halo and gears of war got 10's 9.8's and 9.6....

gears of war make me buy xbox 360, stoy wise i give it 3 coz i had not idea what the hell is going on. thanks God it has good gameplay....

(just my opinion)..... and i admit that there is always something in mgs which make you think "WTH".... but MGS4 done a great job of wrapping up everything in good manner... look no matter how hard you try you cannot make everybody happy..... just stop complaining and enjoy the "masterpiece"...
