Capcom: No trophy support for Devil May Cry 4

A poster on Capcom Unity's forums has received an answer to the question of whether Devil May Cry 4 and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be getting the trophy treatment and it is no. Capcom feels that DMC4 already has "its own little trophylike system" and the Puzzle Fighter team has moved on to other projects.

Same here. Trophies for all games would be pretty sweet. But we all know that's not realistic... the top sellers should certainly get them though imo.

that's a shame Capcom is also taking the no trophy route. We have achievements just like the 360 version [spitten image of] so they could easily just take some of those achievements and create them into actual trophies for our PSN profiles. Capcom actually has a leg up on other developers in that they have already have something implemented so adding trophies I'd imagine would be easier for them to do than anyone else...

A lot old titles aren't getting trophies the only old titles that are getting trophies are most ps3 exclusive So don't expect to see Assassin's Creed getting Trophies, if it does than Kudos. I think the good thing about this is that we know we are all basically Starting from zero. We know every gamer doesn't have a crazy amount of trophies and we start all fresh and new.

1.4 - Devil May Cry 4...

...was nothing but Devil May Cry with a new coat of paint. That is, nothing new in the gameplay dept. I especially hated the game room where you were presented with a dice...yawn. You're taking on the devils minions and all they can come up with is an unopposed version of snakes and ladders...without the snaked or ladders.

DMC4 = DMC + HD. Barely a next gen game in my opinion and therefore I would not replay it even if they did release a trophy patch.

It also looks like Sony has made it required now for trophies to be implemented in currently developing games and future games as long as the developer signs onto the supposed contract that Capcom signed.

Even if I would agree with any anti Capcom nowadays at first, this time it isn't really their fault...

The guys care to put a "achievements" system in their game way before Sony released this firmware. The game is done, no online, i believe don't sell that much anymore (which is normal), probably just a feel will really get to play it in future (me included, just now I got my needed vacations, I didn't have finish DMC4). Why would Capcom have to go back to this and make trophies AGAIN?

I would like it there just as much as the next guy, but I'll not blame them if they don't to go back, they really have tried in this one...

Now, if you wanna badmouth Capcom, I have my swiss army knife with Capcom matters/rumors just here... MegaMan 9, Monster Hunter 3, Resident Evil 5 maybe time exclusive (this one pretty much dead already), no DMC for PSP, Dino Crisis 3 sucked and no Dinos in the horizon, no Dead Rising on PS3, Lost Planet port sucked, they are going the cheap way, kicking Okami dev team... You choose.

(Capcom old fan pissed much? Me? No way... ¬¬')

Basically you go to your history on the online portion and you get the ACCOMPLISHMENT LIST and you look at what you've done, I'd rather get trophies IMO since THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A FREAKIN PLAT FOR ME!!!!!XDDDDDDDD

the only thing that disappointed me was that they just "repeated" the whole game backwards with dante, sure nero isn't that bad of a character, but dante IS what devil may cry is all about (at least to me). anyway, what i wanted to point out was that the game does not "suck", and saying nonsense that one version is better than the other because it has achievements is just silly.

(By the way Straight Cougar is better) but DMC4 was underwelming. I loved DMC3 but DMC4 was TOO much like DMC3. It did not live up to my expectations. It didn't "suck" like alot of people say it does but in my opinion it doesn't deserve more than a 8 or 8.5. I was expecting a great game and instead i got a abit above average action game.

hmmm i don't understand why the devs are dissing the trophies in multiplatform titles, because they could just copy the xbox360 achievements, only extra work they would have would be to make 2d icons for the visuals of the trophies, so the term lazy suits them well...

i want trophies for all my games as much as the next guy, but we have to be realistic and accept the fact that most devs, arent going to go back to some older games just to patch in some trophies. we have the feature now and devs will surely do it for future titles, i know my girl will love Uncharted having trophies since its her favorite game and it gives her a bit more to do in the game :)

What now? We'll have a article to each and every game that will not receive trophy support?

I mean, wasn't it expected that old games missed this feature? You know, developers don't like to go back, specially when they are occupied in new things... And Sony have to really push it now even to future games, because looks like trophies aren't mandatory as achievements in X360.

For all I care, I would prefer they actually include this "mini-missions" in the game system, way less of those, but giving us rewards like new weapons and clothes and whatever, when we reach some "points" (think of Uncharted medals or older games), instead of a lame "my e-penis is larger than yours" system... Just like in the old days, where you actually would lose weeks on RE just to get all the stuff, or in MGS just go with the most rare rankings.

Thanks to MS achievements and now Sony trophies all we get is a lame message and points to enlarge your e-penis... Congratulations, you got fooled again... Oh, and that stuff you should just get when you rock at the game, they conveniently forget about, but they'll remember when time for DLC come.

Actually, yes I've played on an XBox 360 before and that was a couple of months ago. In my opinion trophies are better than achievements because achievements are achievements. It's not like Bill Gates will jump from your T.V and give you a million bucks.

My guess is that developers are busy with their newer games and probably won't have time to patch these games, although they should. Why does it matter to you 360fanatics if older games on the PS3 gets trophies or not? Obviously, you're only making fun of this to justify achievements on your 360. Devil May Cry 4 already has some kind of an achievement thing going on for the game although they should give it trophy support for the PS3. But if they're not going to do that, then it's their loss.

They're just digging a bigger hole for themselves when it comes to Playstation owners.
