Guns of the Patriots: Solid game but murky morals

To describe the plot of the Metal Gear series as complex would, as understatements go, be like describing Heather Mills as a teensy bit irritating.

Epic in both ambition and execution, Solid Snake's futuristic adventures have so far managed to bamboozle and engage in almost equal measure. So much so that I actually completed a large proportion of an early instalment without being 100 per cent sure of whether I had been battling on the side of good or evil.

***SPOILERS***

Well he's right about moral ambiguity; the whole time you think the patriots and liquid are the enemy, at the end you find out you've been working for the patriots, by chance managed to destroy them BUT that was ocelot's plan, to destroy the patriots. You were basically being manipulated by the patriots the whole way though, and their plan was manipulated by ocelot who "pretended" to be liquid (through hypnosis & nanomachines), in order to fool _them_ into sending you in to destroy GW, in the hope that it would destroy the other AIs as well.

Yep. The moral was as Big Boss explained how people who start out with good intentions are sometimes blindsided in the processes by their own ego, and turn into the very thing they're fighting against. Much like the old adage inherent in the entire game which is "When fighting a beast you must become a beast." For Big Boss, and Zero were trying to find liberty, but instead of freeing themselves they were now slaves to their own systems. In the end though Liquid, and Naomi manipulated Snake into helping their cause with the help of Sunny too that is, which was to destroy the system, and free themselves. It's explained flat out in the very end for everyone who was listening.

"This is good... Isn't it?" -Big Boss

4 - Complex Story...
Its not as complex as some people make it seem... its not space odyssey 2001 or something truly complicated/poetic. I think its pretty simple, but a little hard to remember everything that happened in 20 years worth of games.

Ya its like once you've tasted something great you go back yearning for more, but after being a fan for so long and knowing the story (mostly) from the inside out. MGS4 left me completely fulfilled and satisfied and I can't think of any questions to ask prier to 4.
