New inFamous inFo, Screens

PSBlog: "Hey Everyone! All the Sucker Punchers here at HQ are super excited about the July issue of Game Informer (available at fine magazine stands everywhere). GI has a 10-page cover story on inFamous, our (deep breath) open-world-modern-day-super-hero-action-adventure game. The article does a great job capturing the best things about inFamous."

1.1 - I will use this game
to wash the stale taste of GTA4.

1.2 - I still havne't even
finished GTA4. I was never a real big fan of the series, but I got caught up in all the hyperbole. There's no real point in me turning it in right now though. Not really any games I want until October.

On track ... I've been curious about this game for a while. I can't wait for E3. Hopefully we get blasted with info about a lot of games that are still shadowed in secrecy.

You know, so ignorantly I never picked Bully up. Either way, Rockstar PS3 exclsuive should be excellent, unless GTA4 is anythign to go by.

I shall, I have B/C on my PS3, so why the heck not?

On Topic: The screens looks liek they ahve Sucker Punch personality. Like the poses show the animations will be good old Sucker Punch, and THAT is what made Sly Cooper for me.

Really looking forward to this one, but I don't know if I want to know too much about it - preserve the mystery.

I don't know... Pixelly shadows is all that bothered me.

And that has to be bullshot AA, becuase otherwise it's GODLY AA.

But I totally agree otehrwise, it's a tight lookign game, extremely tight. Not beauitful, but that's only down to the gloomy subject matter.

This is exactly what we need awesome original IPs. We have enough AAA sequels to look forward to (god of war, final fantasy etc) I'm glad sucker punch is creating a new franchise.

It's really interesting....

Insomniac made ratchet, then made Resistance for PS3 which was a big hit.

Naughty Dog made Jack and Daxter, and then made uncharted, also a big hit.

Now with Sucker Punch who made sly cooper, we're getting this gem. Well it seems that PS3 is really focusing on older, more mature gamers. I hope this one turns out well, it doesn't look like much at the moment (shooting lighting out of your hands, give me a break). Sony has messed up considerably with their collection of clusterflops such as Genji and Lair, as well as others. But it seems now the PS3 has a healthy collection of unique games and things are looking fairly solid ;)

Hmmm it looks to me that it should trump prototype fairly well. Haven't yet seen it in person though... maybe next month.

Nice. Is he Raiden or some sort of thunder god?

15.1 - NO
he is no thunder GOD like Raiden but he does shoot bolts from his hands. Its a mystery how he got them in the frist place at the beginning of the game.According to SP. Dylan the lead will discover more powers later on in the game.

16 - i've been anticipating
news for this game since it debuted at E3 last year, and FINALLY we're getting something.

it'd be wonderful if they managed to squeak it out in time for Christmas, but i can wait until next year if i must.

and to Cviper, he does more than just shoot lightning from his hands. according to the game informer,

Dylan (the inFamous lead character), can use his natural climbing abilities to scale walls. he shoots lighting from his hands, can call down lightning strikes from the sky, can emanate an electrical field that repels nearby enemies, and create delayed balls of energy (which function like sticky grenades). and those are just the "Stage 1" powers that he has at the start, when he's just discovering his abilities (think of when Peter Parker JUST got his spider powers in the movie, and attempted to web-swing for the first time, and then think of the Doc Ock train battle in Spider-Man 2, and you'll get an idea of how Dylan's abilities will develop). also, Dylan's ability to jump isn't the only way he'll traverse the city. since he can't use cars (all that electricity, you know), he'll have to use his powers, but Sucker Punch isn't telling what that is yet.

looking at Sucker Punch's pedigree with the Sly Cooper series, i'm willing to give inFamous more than a chance.

people LOVE to throw Lair out there whenever Sony announces a new IP, but Factor 5's pedigree has ALWAYS been spotty at best.

Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, etc, all have rock solid pedigrees, which is why, more than any dev out there, Playstation fans get excited when they announce a new title in their existing franchises, or a new IP.

it's going to be the same way for Xbox 360 fans when Bungie finally reveals what THEY'VE been cooking. or does their pedigree mean anything to you, like, apparently, Sucker Punch's doesn't to you?
