Definitely not, every single Final Fantasy game has been based in a different universe and thus JENOVA cannot be in FF13 or FFvs13.

For crying out loud, not everything links to FFVII. I still can't believe people thought the blonde haired Shiva-Motorbike guy was Cloud. FFXIII is a complelty new story with new themes, locations, battle systems, narratives and charecters. Enough with the VII worship, you have FFVII, AC, BC, CC and DC for heavens sake! What more do you want?

I seem to remember that image was inferred to be the Pulse crystal, or at least something related to it.

Maybe some references or easter eggs like the Cloud's Buster Sword in Final Fantasy IX (in Alexandria, a weapon shop), but no way for "physical entities". Maybe that thing could maybe looks like a bit to Jenova's shadow, but it won't be Jenova, unless you created an interdimensional vortex just like Sliders.

So yes, if you see a wrap over your head and a blond hedgehog falling from that vortex with a giant sword, so it's still possible.... (irony, uh?)

Yes there have been lots of references to other final fantasy's but there is a word for that FAN SERVICE. Jokes or things along those lines that only fans would understand. For example Shinra from X-2 someone who had never played the Final Fantasy Series would never know the significance of his name. Fans would, hence Fan service. There has been alot of things like that in the Final Fantasy series. But the series has never crossed over into each other. Therefore unless SE randomly decides to start doing that now this isn't Jenova.

if its Jenova, Minerva or whoever it is from FF VII im gonna scream, im sick and freaking tired of that game! they have a movie, a mini series, they have four games (before Crisis, Crisis Core, FFVII, Dirge of Cerberus,and cameos on god knows how many games) this is getting really old, *END FANBOY RANT* so anyways it looks cool O_O

...the multiple appearances of Garland as a villain, Gilgamesh and Omega/Ultima weapons. The thing about FF is that there is some carry over. Ever thought you'd see the Magus Sisters as a summon in FFX after fighting them as bosses back in FFIV? Probably not, but there they were.

I doubt it's Jenova. Not just because she is such a major player in the FFVII story, but the fact that Square probably wants to move on with FFXIII and revolutionize the genre again with PS3 as they did with VII on PSone. If they cling to the past, they delay the process of moving forward. I could really see less than usual in the tie-in department when it comes to FFXIII. (and yes I know about the Lightning female Cloud design thing. I'm just saying!)

Since Nomura is doing the designs again, and 13 is set in another world from 7 (like all other FFs) it's probably just a "salute" to JENOVA, but definently not the same creature. Unless they make it so that there were many JENOVA that landed on different worlds and whatnot, but I personally think that'd be a really cheap way of connecting 13 to 7.
