PS3 Firmware 2.4 Video on Monday rumor debunked?

In the Playstation Blog, a user with the name Nitrowolf2 made a comment: "apparently my buddy heard it from a very well known source about the 2.4 video on monday but we will all just have to wait, and plus it was never comfirmed or anything so its just a rumour."

Jeff Rubenstein replied to that comment: "For the record, I'm the one who produces the videos like we did with Grace and the PSN Store redesign. That "very well known source" of rumors out is either ill-informed or just flat-out guesses.

Don't trust anyone who hides behind a screen name."

("ill-informed or just flat-out guesses" that's pretty much no, ill informed means WRONG)

I wasn't expecting 2.40 until E3 or a week before anyways. Monday isn't here and it's still possible we could get it on Monday but I'm sticking with E3 so I don't disappoint myself.

Sony really need to pick this up quicker. I've noticed that if something is true, Sony will deny it so they can announce it themselves, but if it's false, they say nothing and then people are disappointed and blame Sony when "x" doesn't happen even though they never mentioned it.

They announced it on the PS blog, it's on the information board, it's been confirmed that there will be a video walkthrough, and they told us to expect "official details shortly". I don't know what it is. They announced and show us vids of the PS store in action with a preview picture and hints 2 weeks before it even dropped.

Lol, but it's not even Monday yet but the possibility is slimmer but it's still there.

I stopped believing in hyped rumors...only to be disappointed like many. It will be ready, when it's ready.

Off Topic: Any body seen that movie "Green Mile" what an awesome movie. It's right up there with "Shawshank Redemption". One of my top films.

He works for the PS3fanboy website. I think they are the ones who supposedly had the first exclusive screenshots for the newly revamped PSN store, but someone in Europe leaked them before they could show the screenshots. This is what leads me to believe that the PSBlog is making it up to them by giving them the exclusive details for the PSN 2.4 firmware update. But this is all speculation on my part nothing more than that.

it nothing to be suspicious of, other than the fact that both microsoft and sony want to keep their ideas to themselves before releasing it to the public which can lead to their opponent to release something similar down the line and can have a big impact on competition.

Its like when sony released info about home, big gamble imo, i believe microsoft are now working on something similar.
