definatly need a new one built with comfort in mind but warhawks mic also had a mute button, just click the button used to put it on/off and it will beep, it takes about 2-3 seconds to register it but it can

i want a quick mute option like the 360's where i just click and instantly off, is there any mic like that for ps3 (i dont care about wires)

erm really?
I played more then a few games with friends who I know for sure use ps eye, like say for burnout paradise and I've not had that problem...I've got both but I prefer headset...oh and just so you know I really don't like the background noise either...but I think it's definitely think its someone with the wrong settings...

Yeah, I'm usually a fan of wired headsets myself, but this one at least has the advantage of being chargeable. It would suck if it used batteries.

wired headsets break too often. i had like 8 for the ps2 and 2 for the ps3- thats like 300$ on mics yo. blue tooth is more reliable and more efficient. im always bull sh*tting with my friends so im always walking around the house with it. planitronics 220 explorer, is a good cheap blue tooth, good quality, reliable, got good reviews, i would suggest it. but i would also suggest the socom headset knowing that its got the technology thats in the EYE toy.

for that to be used while gaming because you need to place your fingers over both sides and press it to your through in order for it to work. and if they didn't have that feature then you'll be hearing a lot of burping and hums

i always have one of my controllers plugged in charging so when the one i'm using dies, i can just swap.

i planned on doing that with my headsets also. it's always good to have a backup.

1) when they removed the superfluous extra HDMI port.
2) when they scrapped the boomerang controller.
3) when they frequently updated the PS3 hardware specs to support features the competitors console had.
4) when they lowered the price of the PS3 in Japan BEFORE launch (and got reamed by the press for it)
5) when they lowered the price in the US last year, even though they were taking huge losses on it.
6) when they started showcasing game after game after game, no matter how far off, ALL last year, from GDC, to E3, to TGS.
7) when they started a blog to talk to have a more "face to face" intereaction with the Playstation community.
8) when they responded to pressure from the media and fans, and started talking about the things they had in the works, even when they weren't ready (which is the complete opposite of what Sony USED to do, waiting until it was practically complete before they showed it off), only to get reamed by the media when the games and services didn't launch that exact minute.

it's kind of surprising, but it's impressive how much Sony has been humbled and humanized this generation, in the way they interact with the public, and their fanbase.

note: my comments above aren't meant to be facetious, or snippy. i just think it's genuinely interesting the PR turnaround they've gone through, and how much more "likable" they are this past year.

in contrast, i think Nintendo and Microsoft have been possessed by the "arrogance demon" that dominated Sony for about 8 years.

i mean, just read interviews with folks like Reggie Fils Aimee, Shane Kim, Itagaki, Cliffy B., and Arron Greenburg, and contrast that with current interviews from Howard Stringer, Ted Price, and even that tool, Jack Tretton. hell, even Shigeru Miyamoto from Nintendo has been uncharacteristically arrogant the past few months. success can get to ANYONE'S heads, of course, and i think we've been seeing that lately, especially as the gaming industry has grown into a multi-billion dollar a year industry.
