Battlefield: Bad Disc?

Sarcasticgamer.com wrote: "I purchased my copy of Battlefield: Bad Company from my local Gamestop. This store in Broadview, IL is the only Gamestop I frequent because of the nice people that work there. There are EB Games and Gamestops that are actually closer to where I live, but I like this store just fine and reserve all of my stuff there, when the feeling moves me.

Anyway, I got my hands on my copy of the Gold Edition of Battlefield: Bad Company, took it home and popped it into my Xbox 360…. And got the Dirty Disc Error… Is my Xbox 360 broken...again, or did I get a Battlefield Bad Copy?"

1 - Most Likely.....
Your 360s broken, that`s NOT that uncommon. (j/k kinda)

Seriously though, it sucks when games have problems when you first get them, or anytime.

i agree to you: i am no fanboy, but i had a 360, had a lot of problems: scratches on discs, freezing, turning itself off, and i had the rrod once, had to send it back to microsoft, got it back in 4 weeks, but when i bought the ps3, i did not have any problems, not even with folding@home on for +15 hours!
and i have my 360 for almost 2 years, and my ps3 for 1 to 1.5, some thing like that...

Yeah, PS3 definitely is the more reliable system this time around. It's a good thing Sony made up for the problems they had with the PS2. I know people that went through PS2's just like people now go through 360's.

3 - Since we haven't heard of this issue happening with other gamers(yet)
It's most likely the Xbox is broken again.

Very unlikely that there is a problem with the disc. That's all I'm saying.

That error has nothing to do with the disc...It's the 360, i've been getting that error ever since Mass Effect, followed by CoD4, and most recently GTA4. I guess i should be buying them for my PS3, but honestly PSN isn't as good as live yet, maybe after 2.4 i'll make the switch.

Also, i didn't bother reading the whole article, but if you get that error, just restart your 360 and it will work fine for at least a while until you get the error again ;)

Well my 2 and half year old Xbox 360 still plays all the games fine, even BF:BC which I got a day early here in the UK.

I hope we don't start seeing more of these articles of someone getting a bad copy of a game. If he got another disk and same problem then it most likely his console.

The page with the article taking to long to load excess of 10 minutes. IE tab still loading WOW.

14 - No such thing as EB games
Game Stop bought EB a long time ago, you must have a real small town or something if they haven't changed their logo's yet. I also live in Illinois, burbs of Chicago and not on EB games is called EB any longer, they all have Game Stop Signs outside of the store.

14.1 - EB Games is still around
Yes, they were bought out by Gamestop, but the closest video game store to me is a EB, and it is in a fairly good size city. Also, the EB website is still up and running under that name, so not all have been converted. Not really sure why, though. The EB I buy from even uses Gamestop bags!

15 - it's your 360
I had the same issues (disk read errors, and two rings from overheating) with new copy of COD4. I finally sent mine in. I got back the same console with new dvd drive and all cleaned out of dust. How can I tell if they installed the heat sinks fix?
