They already have a game on PSP for girls to mix and match clothes to see what will look good for different occasions. I guess this would just incorporate real brands and can also serve as a fashion magazine to let girls know what's coming out? At least you'll get a bigger screen... It'd be cool if they added Eyetoy function so girls can pretend they are wearing the cloths?

Dunno about UK, but there are more percentage of girls into fashion "brands" in Japan than in US... at least that's what I've seen.

@1.2: Isn't obvious its a way to get woman and girls into the market and they are copying wii with the controller and things like this because of the great female attraction the wii has gotten. I'm not hating on PS3 or wii, I like them both, I own them both, (PS3 is mine and wii is my sisters, which proves how popular the wii is with females)

With all the casual games that are coming out like Home, LBP, Afrika and now Dress I think Sony is going to do a price cut by early fall to get more casual gamers aboard.

it is probably the program that lets you create you clothing, and may be the same APP that lets you sell your clothing and acquire from other users.

7 - Game Avatars instead
Would be a better proposition for HOME rather than dressing up the human ones available.

Now that would be fun especially with all the characters from games that Sony owns.

Maybe someday with Home 2.0

8 - The casual push is starting
Sony basically have the Hardcore game line up locked down now they are starting the casual push with this sort of initiative. It interesting to see that Sony are focusing on the more mature affluent casual market. Very interesting indeed.

Are they trying to attract female buyers now or what??

8.2 - Offcourse
Half of the worlds pop are girls remember. Sony for the last couple of years have always tried to attract the female gamers with games such as singstar. I am not surprised that they are trying again this gen but don't worry though. We still have the best hardcore game lineup compare to competition for this year and beyond.

This has been Sony's strategy since PS1. Focus on the all important Hardcore market first then start the casual push later on.

11.1 - Nintendo
in a space of a few months has managed to do what Sony have been trying for years to do which is to attract the female pop to gaming in droves. Sonys limitation was that they couldn't turn their backs on the core audience that supported them from the beginning unlike Nin which basically took a big piss on their loyal fanbase that they had left. Sad really but then everyone knew that Nin would have never been able to compete for the hardcore.

I agree. This is Nintendo's fault. First a gardening sim on PSN now a dress up game for little girls. Where will it end!?

11.3 - ...??
This is not Nintendo's fault, Sony already had Singstar and Buzz and it has only continued with Little Big Planet, "dress", and what not. This is actually a good thing, since Sony satisfies every audience and not just the casuals or the hardcore.

"Sonys limitation was that they couldn't turn their backs on the core audience that supported them from the beginning"

Uh, that is actually a strength, not a weakness. That is why PS2 reached 130 million and counting. Nintendo has turned its back on the core gamer, let's see how 3rd parties keep supporting this weak excuse of a next-gen console that sells mostly Nintendo Software and 3rd party shovelware.

Sony and Microsoft are still selling way more software than Nintendo for third parties, and it's poised to remain that way. I'm glad there are alternatives to Nintendo where one can see AAA games not made by 1st party devs, especially ones that don't necessarily include cuddly mascots. Which is why, from a gamers' standpoint, I couldn't care less if the Wii is doing so well, as long as its owners keep buying crap, I'm happy with my 360 and PS3.

News Flash: The Cellphone market is much bigger than the Wii market and it has a sh1tload of games, why don't Wii apologists consider that a success? Oh that's right, Square had to cancel "AAA" titles for the cellphone like FF Agito XIII and Parasite Eve. I wonder if God of War and Metal Gear Solid sold as expected.

11.4 - @Issac
No i meant it was more of a hinderence to them going after the casual market because they couldn't focus complete on it but rather keep a balance and i am greatful for it. Yes PS strength has always been its ability to provide all gamers with games they want to play.

I couldn't agree more. The console that ends up the least like wii will be the best one. More games like GTA4 and MGS4 and less Mario.
