I remember people (Xbox fanboys) freaking out about the attach rate for the PS3 as being "under 1 game per console" and saying that it was going to be that way for a long time, even though the Sony fanboys and intellects argued it was too soon to take such a poll.

Weird, isn't it? Every dog has their day.

P.S. My comment wasn't aimed directly at you so don't take it that way, I just replied to your comment because it used a line I was going to manipulate. My comment was meant to be sarcasm so I can giggle at the fanboys.

Wii's attach rates (beat?) 360 (I don't remember teh exact rate, but it was 2+), while PS3 lags behind.

So it was too early crushing them for the .98 (which was in fact only in Japan), but not too early to go for teh low general attach rate, which is still pretty low.

Initial estimates of the number of PS3s on eBay put the system pretty close to 360 in terms of resale. That number might also need to be refined, but at launch, it didn't appear PS3 was being resold much (if at all) more than 360 had been.

The funniest thing is that article clings to rumors and bad PR as the biggest weapon. Do you NOT realize that the fanboys have created the hype and rumors? If you paid attention to ANY forum dedicated to the PS3 the day of launch then you would know there were probabaly 100+ posts from anonymous people saying their PS3 had crashed and was overheating or lit their house on fire or some other random lie. So what you are defending is that rumors are encouraged by the company to get bad PR for the competition. In that case, Microsoft has a lot of advocates dedicated to this cause. Where does that place Microsoft on the list of deceitful companies then?

Do you not realize who is really making this crap up?

As for other points in that article of course! Stuff like that is bound to happen! They are companies competing for your business, why wouldn't they want to do better than the other one?

u seriously think sony didnt do all that? wow, u r retarded, and yes i know m$ has done things like that too, but in the videogame department? maybe, but not to that extreme...yet. every1 knows dam well that sony did blackmail stores and have the store employees spread crap about the dreamcast, and xbox. it's a vile business world out there. but still, sony said all these wonderful things about ps2, and it sucked, and theyre trying the same with ps3. and so far the only ps3 defect rumors iv heard are on this site, which was only a few, and they were proven true. when the original xbox and 360 came out, defect rumors came out like wildfire, and the majority of them were nothing but BS. if the ps3 gets killed by rumors, well, have u ever heard the saying "what goes around comes around"? sonys day will probly come sometime...and they more than deserve it

I never said that Sony did NOT do anything to that effect, open your eyes and read before you start bashing anyone's postings. My whole point, which was stated clearly at least twice, was that EVERYONE does it. Yeah, every single company with power does it because they can, because they want to continue being a business as long as possible.

You say that the PS2 sucked but apparently it didn't because it is still kicking the crap out of everything but the Nintendo DS. Yeah, the machine had problems but what doesn't? In fact, I have first-hand accounts that the XBox360 is already well on its way to becoming known as a disasterous console. Yeah, it's got some killer games and features but the machine is a hunk of sh!t.

As for your "what goes around comes around" charade, you are hoping the same fate on XBox360 then? Did you not even see any of the many false reports of PS3 problems on launch day and shortly after? If not that makes me question your sources even more. Granted they were made by whiners who are trying to flex their e-peen, but it is still a crapload of rumors being spread with intent to destroy a reputation (that is unshakeable unless they alter it).

Guess what, the world aint all Unicorns and Lollipops, people are deceitful and will take shady measures to be known. Sony had the right to deny consoles to people because it is their product. If the stores didn't want to comply then so what, they lost the PS2's. If it was THAT BAD of a thing people would have (or should have) stood up and said it wasn't right and completely shut out the PS2's from coming on the market, but they didn't so was it really THAT bad of a thing or just a really clever marketing plan?

Are you going to sue Sony over it? Didn't think so...

I can't count how many times I have heard, "Well why support 1080p when there are NO 1080p TV's out?" Guess what... now that Microsoft supposedly supports 1080p everyone advocating their decisions thinks it was a GREAT idea. You are sad if you believe this kind of crap.

Seriously, do you not see those hundreds of articles that say THE EXACT SAME things about why the PS3 is a bad purchase? You are trying to make it seem like Sony is doing something that no one else does on a regular basis.

When you make a product that will reach millions you are making the product and yourself vulnerable to criticism in all forms. If you can't deal with it then get out of the business, simple as that. Don't kid yourself into thinking Sony is some mastermind behind some conspiracy to destroy other companies.

At the time 1080p TVs were expensive and rare. Now that more TVs support 1080p and not at a premium, MS added this feature. Big Deal.. They still believe that 720p is the sweet spot.

Now when Sony boasts about 1080p and that all games will be 120fps. Now that is bad. In all their crap about 1080p this and 1080p that, how many games launched at 1080p? Even their main title RFOM is in 720p.

Or at E3 2005, Sony stating that Killzone and Motorstorm CGI was in fact gameplay. Not target renders like some Sony fans state. Well that was a flat out LIE.

Sony called the 360 the Xbox1.5. Sony constantly claims that PS3 is X amount more powerful than the 360, but yet their lineup is equal to or worse than 360s games. Please don't use the "developers need more time" crap. If a machine is suppose to be more powerful then you should see improvements right away. When 360 came out, you could see the improvements right away compared to the XBOX and PS2.

Sony decides to use Blu-ray as their medium saying its for games and not for movies. Sony claims its intentions is not to increase the amount of Blu-ray players in the homes. It will add to gaming experience. Of course what do they give away, Talledega Nights... A Movie.. I think owners would have been happier with a 1080p game.

PS3 doesn't support 1080i, which leaves some owners having to play 720p games in 480p. How the hell can Sony forget about this? They make freakin TVs!!

Sony stating that their online will be equal to, or surpass Live. Well you've got developers writing their own online stuff, developers who have no clue what Sony is doing so doesn't include online features and Sony using different middleware. That's a mess... oh, but I'm sure Sony's working hard on the microtransaction stuff... Sony has had years to develop this.

Sony = HD gaming, but we'll supply you with composite cables.

You can blame xbox fans for writing crap about PS3s on forums, but who you gonna blame when CNN, NYT, Yahoo and Analysts do it?

Tester, your reply was ridiculously pointless. 90% of it didn't even relate to anything I said and you completely trailed off of the subject.

Here, let me remind you of the subject again: It was about the link you posted about Sony's attempts to besmirch the name of Micsrosoft's Xbox 360 by spreading rumors that IT WASN'T A GOOD BUY and by paying off a major news network to report the same notion!

My rebuttal stated that there have been many articles that intended to do the same thing, BUT TO THE PLAYSTATION 3! I wonder if I made the text bold you would be able to read and understand it better.

Now, if you want to continue to debate topics that have been debated a million times over on this website then go ahead, you'll be playing with yourself. If you want to stay on topic and try a second time to make a relevant and worthwhile response to my rebuttal than please do, I would really love to hear a good one on this.
