Battlefield: Bad Company Demo Update

DICE writes: "The stats database has been reinforced and you should now see the correct stats both in-game and on the website.

A very small amount of players might experience some freezes when logging in. Please report this on the following thread and we will take care of it as soon as possible: http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jspa?threadID=372186&tstart=0

Please note that you only receive an unlock on Rank 1, 2, and 4, for a total of 3 unlocks.

We will continue working around the clock to improve your experience even further. This Tuesday we're rolling out an update during the regular maintenance to secure the integrity of your stats.

We've noticed that EU players sometimes end up on North American east coast servers and vice versa. During the maintenance the ping servers will be tuned in order to make sure you end up on the server with lowest ping.

We've increased the number of servers to cater for an amazing 50,000 players. In a couple of hours time we need to restart all servers to prepare for this and to decrease the lag and improve the experience on X360.

RESTART WILL OCCUR AT 4pm PDT / 7pm EDT / 01:00 CEST.

i never field like in a war here and the single player mode demo suck but the online was fun but not great!!!

i'm glad they've sorted out the servers...i live in france, but was getting put in servers full of americans, and was experiencing some serious lag...

I lost interest for this game after i downloaded the beta. Battlefield belongs on the PC and not on the consoles, the engine is just built for a PC and the controls feel un-natural while playing. Since I have now become a full-time console gamer I will not be picking up this game and I will not even be downloading this demo.

i was sceptical about this game but the demo is great and the multiplayer is like Warhawk+COD4 rolled into one crazy game.

it has its flaws, but its easily overseen

7.3 - I agree, man.

COD4 is amazing, but after a while I just start doing the same thing over and over again. The combat is excellent, but the BF demo blew it away, imo. The destructible environments and intense combat in the demo amazed me. I also love vehicular combat, so the game is perfect for me. I love Call of Duty, but this game just might be better, atleast in my eyes.

It's also great how focused the devs are on the demo version. It shows that they will put a crazy amount of effort into the final version as well...

Thank god there are others out there who aren't frozen into the CoD4 hype. Battlefield completes the missing components not found in CoD to make it feel like a real war but I doubt BF:BC's single player campaign is going to be anywhere near as good as CoD's.

I wouldn't say it's better than CoD4.

It's a bit different idea. Both are great fun but CoD4 is, after all, about how well you aim. BF is more than that. It has more tactics involved and the game is more focused on all that "battlefield experience" rather than smooth and accurate controls. In fact, I don't quite like the FOV (field of view) when you're on foot. Feels too close (but didn't stop me from playing 4 hours last night :). Plus you have to take "visuals" into consideration as well and on that field, CoD4 is way better.

I really really enjoyed the demo (multi). I will definetely buy that game. It's like PR0F3TA said few comments above, BF:BC is like Warhawk and COD4 put together. And I absolutely love that about it :)

Oh, and the music in the menu - LOOOOOOVE IT!!! :D:D:D

The sound itself in battlefield is enough to warrant a purchase from me. At first I hated how the player controlled, but now I really like that "heavy" feeling. It reminds you that you have a crapload of weapons and gear on you. It also inreases the tension. I love the moments where a tank is after you and it's shooting the house you're in down, tearing down the walls. The game has so much tension in it and that's why I love it. I'm glad it's not coming out near MGS4. Now I can definetly get both games. See you all online in the demo =D

i don't like cod4 that much u do the same crap all the time u rank up to 55 then next lvl up again and again and u always respawn at the same place every time and that u get killed easily i don't like that. But battlefield u can respawn anywhere u want and destroy buildings to kill the enemies etc :)

Battlefield BC is better then COD4. I don't know why I am saying that but it's true. I had alot of fun with the demo last night. I had to go back and play some Battlefield 2 PC. The Oasis map reminded me of the Gulf of Oman map on BF2 PC.

but does not reach the quality that cod4 has, i wish it did hell yeah i wish that i want good games but this is just a ok game im not going 2 buy it i mean its fun but if u play cod4 n tray something else i need 2 go back 2 cod4 becuz of the quality framarate etc, its the best, its sad becuz i like tf2 but know that i play cod4 i cant go back i tray but it suck in frame rate etc

And of course a game has to have superior framerate to be good...

I like COD's gameplay over TF2, but not over Battlefield. I'm not sure about graphic and framerate comparisons, but that comes after gameplay in my mind. And the gameplay in all of the BF games has been epic to me.

The demo of BF:BC is more fun than the full version of COD4 ever was. I'm definitively getting this.

And btw, stop kissing Infinity Wards asses. They make good games but the aren't some sort of game developer gods as some here seam to think. There are others out there capable of making games as well.

What the heck amn. I kept getting killed by pinpoint stikes. How do you do that? The screen tearing seems to have lessened. Could that be? Weird. I'm starting to come around and change my mind on this game. I played alot of BF2MC I gues it will be a buy now.

You really can't compare the two. One is a on-foot shooters game. cod you have to rely on your speed, vision, hearing and reaction time. BF, the name says it all, ITS A BATTLEFIELD. Full on war!
