No Trophies For Resistance

Despite an interview with Eurogamer yesterday Insomniac developer J Stevenson has confirmed that there'll be no Trophies or Home support for Resistance: Fall of Man.

"We'd have to take people off of R2 to go back, re-open the code and develop a patch" he said speaking on NeoGAF, "Figure out what the trophies would be, apply that, test it, etc. Lots of work, and lots of time taken away from R2 production."

I'm the only one that has approved this story so far. And judging by all of the Fake reports it looks like some people are trying to keep this story from getting approved.

It seems pretty important...people are gonna read the original story and think that R1 is getting trophies, and if this doesn't get approved then they won't know that the developer made a false statement.

It's like propaganda.

7 - Who gives a damn
Trophies, Achievements, whatever you want to call them - its all pointless. Anything that dictates how you should play a game is bad imo. Games should give you multiple ways to achieve your goals - it shouldnt' be about killing x amount of bad guys in x amount of time. This just limits possibilities. Now that PS3 games are adopting YouTube funcionality, they don't need trophies for bragging rights.

Your right, trophies might be pointless, but for the older games like the ones I mentioned above, it will definitely make me go back and blow some of that dust off my games and give it one last run, before I put them away for good.

I would rather have No Trophies at all than to have development time taken away from Resistance 2. I want full production on the actual game. Insomniac might be able to come out with a patch for Trophy support with Resistance 2 later on down the road, but I want Resistance 2 to stay on track for a November 2008 release. Implenting Trophy support right now might delay the game.

I play on X360 and never cares about Achievements, but friend of mine do not put the game away unlees open all Achieves, so some people like this sort of things and that fact, that Resistance2 won't have Trophies is not good. imho.
