Uncharted rises on Amazon's Bestsellers list, gets some much deserved respect

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune didn't debut among the top ten software sales when it released, but six months later it's charting on Amazon's Bestseller's list thanks to being the Deal of the Day. It's not alone, either. The PS3 Blu-Ray remote is also rising the ranks thanks to its limited Lightning Deal status.

This is surprising because 8 of top 10 items are Wii related, which have dominated the Amazon list regularly. For now, Uncharted is finally getting some much deserved sales respect to equal its critical reception.

Well coming from the 360 to my new PS3 this was about the only game I really had my eye on. However $39.99 is still to much for it considering I paid $29.99 off of Gamefly about a month and a half ago and they still have it for sale at $29.99 right now. If you've ever ordered off of Gamefly you know that the case, Disc and instructions are always in new condition anyways.

Still, With a deal like that it isn't surprising to see more people jump on it...But if they looked around they could have saved more. I did, lol. Even picked up Unreal Tournament for $19.99

I just beat this game. The animations, art work and level design were superb, but the combat was not that great. The hit detection and throwing of the nades really had me frustrated by games end.

Yeah, but it was surprising that it didn't chart in the first place when it initially came out. Nice to know it's getting a second chance because of this deal.

P.S. This SHOULD be approved because if you actually read the in-depth article about it rising past the ranks of dominate Wii-stuff, there's a lot more than that other alleged duplicate which 1) failed and 2) doesn't contain nearly as much research.

it didn't chart because that game scared the hell out of ms. there hasn't been anything that looks even close to that on the 360. look what was flaunted for graphics at the same time last year. mass effect? please. bioshock? no, uncharted looked better easily. for a game taking place in the water bioshock was trumnped handily by uncharted. uncharted has the best aqua in a game ...ever.

i have yet to see a game where people maneuvered so hard to keep it out of the running for goty which it damn well should have received. it was tense, fun, exciting, intriguing, and at times thanks to drake's sense of humor downright hilarious.

I completely agree with your statement. I felt that Indy had ripped off Uncharted. The jungle car chase seen at one point seemed like the copied it directly from the game. I vote for an Uncharted movie. Show Lucas how Indy should have been made. Lol.

it scared them ion the developmental stages. when it was being shown early on, it walloped people. it was something of a mystery title but most people that knew nd, knew what they were looking at and saw goty on it. so they went after it with everything they had. if you work in game development you heard about it. they were fairly successful in shutting people down.

The best games are always underrated unfortunately. SotC, Ico, Beyond Good and Evil, and Phsyconauts to name a few off the top of my head. Its great to see it getting some attention. It has been my favorite game this gen after Ratchet and Clank Future and Gears.

Uncharted is by far and away the best exclusive game released so far for the ps3. I'd put it at a firm #2 after bioshock for my goty in 2007. If you're even remotely interested in the genre and own a ps3 its a must have.

10.5 - While puzzles were easy

The gun play is hard and it has one of best AI I've seen in a video game.

The game is not that easy, the game is perfectly balanced with great gameplay, stunning visuals, decent controls, impressive animation, excellent characters, awesome story and superb pace with no loading between levels.

Uncharted isn't the longest game, but it ain't short either. The game is more concentrated in the story and there's not much you can get out of that story to make the game longer, but IMO that's the reason I like the game so much. A perfect combination.

Dude, you really should just get this game immediately. It is the shizzle and for those who thinks it is two short, its still longer than COD4, GeoW, and many other fps or 3rd ps games this gen.

And the graphics are truly off the charts! There really is nothing about this game that you can criticize. Naughty Dog hit a home run on this one and has become one of my most favorite developers. I can't recommend this game more.

Anyone touting Gta4's dominance over uncharted is a tool. Gta4 is loaded with technical glitches, pop up,m slowdown, framerate problems, lack of AA and a slew of feature found in previous GTA games, even the ones on the psp have more depth than Gta4 whenit comes to what you can do after the game is beat. Not only that, Uncharted looks 10 folds better, preforms better and has a better draw distance to boot. Gta4 is a commercial success, not an actual hardcore success. There is a huge difference. If Sony were to drop the amount of money into Uncharted as they did, along with microsoft and the other major media outlets did for GTa4 then it would've been the game of the decade too.

Case and point, GTA and R*'s time has passed and we already seen THQ come out of the gate with saints row which offered up way more in 1 game than any gta game in terms of innovation.
