"No news on Afrika," says SCEE, as Japanese release date is rumoured

VG247 Sony blanked us when we asked for an update on Afrika this week, saying there was nothing to report on the mystery PS3 rhino romp.

"I'm afraid there is no news on the Afrika front at the moment," a SCEE spokesperson said this week.

The firm may have been telling porkies however, as Play-Asia's just listed the game as an August 28 release.

i disagree with you crimson. this game is gonna be bigger than you think and a real showcase of what the ps3 can do. also this games expands the variety on the ps3 which will mean that the ps3 will become more intrestin to a wider audience. this along with lbp and singstar will also attract the more casual gamer. im lookin forward to it and im sure a number of people on here do to.

All we know about the game is that it's in 'Afrika' and you are a HUMAN character, who has a camera around his neck and a jeep. It was supposed to simulate nature in the savannah. The gameplay is unknown, though I hope it's Pokemon snap :3

You mention 4 games on 360. But you can about mention ALL games on PS3!
Even all the big guns. MGS4, GT5, KZ2, you name a game, its delayed. Because tell me. Why is there up to date only one game with an average of 9.0 exclusive on the PS3, Uncharted, 1.5 years after the PS3 got released? Because all games are delayed. The 360 had more games on or over a 9.0 average review after that time and release dates are reached more often.

But since you want to look at it that way, the 360 also has more "below standard" games than the ps3 as well

And the worst part about it is, even with the ps3 having "below standard" games, they're still catching up to the 360. And in good time too. At the beginning of 08, 360 had a six million console lead. And just 3 weeks ago MS openly said that lead is only 5 million now.

it's funny to see all the PS3 fanboys saying that the xbox 360 has no games.

reality check: it's the PS3 that has only 2 good exclusives, Ratchet and Uncharted, both of them without multiplayer. all multiplatform games perform better on the 360 and, as it looks, xbox 360's exclusives in 2008 will, once again, be better than the stuff that is coming to the PS3 (eventually).

just play some games side by side and you'll notice how smooth everthing on the 360 is - where on the PS3, most of the multiplatform games have a horrible framerate and a lot of AA issues.
