SOCOM Confrontation: Sixaxis, Running and Armor Bring Slight Changes

Kotaku writes: "It doesn't look like there will be a whole lotta new coming to SOCOM Confrontation when the online-only shooter hits the PlayStation 3 in September. Sure, you're going to get new maps, and lots more detailed graphics, but if you were hoping for some paradigm shift, some major change in the way you play the popular PlayStation shooter, you're going to be disappointed."

Why would you try to fix something if it works great the way it is? I loved socom 2 and this is what they went back to. This is what us playstation owners wanted.

2 - yea thats what i was going to say
im not looking for anything new other then the look of it! Thats it

I dont want the Zipper Socom with its tanks and Humvee's to change anything. Maybe give us one spy drone per team that can only be used once.

other then that these are not games you can add some new crazy weapons. You already have air-burst and 203's

That's exactly what I want and am expecting from the next installment of Socom. "Slight changes". I'd take a remake of Socom 2 running native on PS3 hardware and PSN if I have to. I don't like too much change in gameplay. Look what happened to Socom 3. Still a great Socom game but most original Socom addicts were disappointed with the drastic changes and added features implemented into the gameplay. In the end, it wasn't as addicting as Socom 2.

Sites like Kotaku need to stop running their mouths because this is what Socom die-hard fanatics like me have been waiting for. A new Socom game based most of S2 gameplay and style. Socom 2 would've been the perfect online shooter but code9 cheaters ruined the fun for everyone. But even to this day, people are still hooked to S2 regardless of constant cheaters. I frequently log in to play at times as well but get off as soon as cheating occurs. That's why I wouldn't mind a remake of S2 even without graphical upgrades. Just an improved anti-cheat system, PSN integration, and running natively on PS3 hardware to stabilize the fps. That's perfect for me.

I'm dying to play this game....

However, I do feel that that graphics are not that great..And that they easily could have squeezed better graphics...More importantly though the player physics seem to be completely last gen...I've seen videos of players getting shot, or thrown away by explosions and they look horrendous.

That aside though I love the implementation of the Sixaxis..I think it's the best done yet...

5 - its kinda hard to say
its the best use of Sixaxis till you play it and are in the middle of a fire fight

i hope i can still use the D-pad for leaning. If not then this game might fail in my eyes. Unless the 6axixs works well. Then i will 4get about using the D-pad

still 4 months away

6 - mmmm....
mines in the corner alley on crossroads...

I think if they do a good enough job that people dont use GB for socom, they will have accomplished a lot. Graphics are not that big of a concern but they should be at least to par.

Gameplay, my friends, as many of you know, is where SOCOM lies...

Can't wait
