Valkyria Chronicles, Alpha Protocol get more solid release dates

PS3 Fanboy writes: Sega has a pretty big list of games in production. Their espionage title, Alpha Protocol, was recently slapped with a February 2009 release date. That means it's going up against Killzone 2. Their other high-profile title, Valkyria Chronicles, got a release date of November 2008.

Sega seems to be creating new games, I wish them success for whatever games they have coming on the N.G.C.

I'm definitely looking forward to Alpha Protocol. I've never been a fan of MMOs, or any RPGs for that matter, because the concept of progress/success being linked to rolls of the dice and chance and equations and whether you've relocated enough bee-hives just doesn't sit well with me. This game seems like a step in the direction of hybridizing the genre (getting a bunch of those this gen it seems; MirrorEdge's FPS/Platforming looks great).

I've always appreciated the story presented in RPGs; just can handle the game play. Alpha Protocol and The Agency seem set to present MMOs and RPGs in a manner that I can get into, and quite possibly may be a gateway-game toward true pureRPGs.
