Visually, the game doesn't look great, to be honest, certainly wouldn't say it looks bad, though. I have faith in the franchise, though; gameplay should be excellent...definitely a buy for me.

1) SOCOM is allll about gameplay

2) its a downloadable PSN title, so they're not really using it to its full capablities (a 25GB or 50GB bluray disc)...its most likely a small download

but with that said...SOCOM never revolutionized graphics, but the online gameplay is unmatched

Yup, CoD 4 and Socom's graphics appear to be on the same level. Except Socom feature 40 different guns with two attachments for each! Also each nation's troops will sport their own guns, for example the Germans will use the G36 instead of M16 and the French with the Famas. In other words this game is a tactical shooter's wet dream.

MGO can go crawl in a hole and die for all I care. I want this game, now.

I can feel that SOCOM II vibe buzzing right thorugh me. I'm actually aching with anticipation.

All these newage gamers that think CoD4 is the end-all and be-all of military shooters need to step into this game to see what beinging a Legend in online military shooters is all about.

Actually, I'm kinda getting really irritated with all this guys that think CoD4 is the holy grail for FPSs or shooters in general. It's like they've never played anything else - apart from maybe halo - in their whole lives.

I find it pathetic that you would even mention a game as lame as Halo 3 - the Hack n Slash of FPS. Halo is a game for little kids. Socom is all about tactics. Halo can't even support 1/2 the players, and the levels in Halo are 1/3 the size.

Last gen, military shooters like R6, CoD etc were utter jokes compared to SOCOM. They've done much better this gen but SOCOM hasn't stepped into this gen yet and will be doing so with what is essentially a warm-up game.

You'll see why those other military shooters were considered a joke once SOCOM come out. Only the strong survive, you'll either have to learn and build your skill or you end up pwned and fraustrated blaming the game for your crappiness.

Make no mistake about it, this isn't some insanely noob friendly game like CoD4 where everyone just needs to hold down a button and get kills, kinda like "everyone gets a trophy" sports tournaments for kids. Ever wonder why SOCOM vets seemingly crush other players on other online shooters? Yup, that's right, cause once you become good at SOCOM everything else seems like gravy.. kinda like how it is with Counter Strike gamers on the PC.

So come SEP 13 - STFU, MAN THE f* UP and GTF^ or GTFO!

MGS is an example of a game that doesn't need multiplayer. The gameplay doesn't lend itself to multiplayer, it's just a gimmick. The combat is just downright awful.

The aiming system is garbage. You can't see your bullets and the only way you can tell if you're hitting your target is by the little blood spatter. Is a decent death animation w/ some gore too much to ask for?

The levels consist of everyone just running around fighting randomly.

This game was not made w/ mp in mind and it shows. The mp was just tacked on.

There are so many better online games MGS is just a waste of time.
