IGN: SOCOM: Confrontation Impressions

If you missed it, IGN ran a story called SOCOM: Confrontation Declassified a couple days ago that highlighted most of the features in the upcoming online-only shooter from Slant Six. At Sony's Pre-E3 judge's event today, they finally had a chance to get their hands on the game and see what it was all about.

The demo took place in the revamped version of Crossroads, a fan-favorite map that premiered with SOCOM 2. The new version looks to stay very true to the original design, with the overall size and geometric form mimicking the original very well. In other words, fans will be very happy. However, it's certainly gotten a major facelift in terms of visuals, and the whole game looks great. The texture work is nice and does a great job of showing off the map's regional placement.
