I beat Ninja Gaiden Sigma and I don't understand all the fuss about it being the hardest game.

Sigmas difficulty was toned down. The original ninja gaiden for the xbox was the difficult one. black was also toned down.

I know Sigma was hard for newcomers. It was hard for me at first but I eventually beat it in all four modes.

the old nintendo games weren't considered more difficult than games now and days. NG:S is a very hard game though.

These "True Gamer" definitions.

I play games as a past time. I enjoy games, I dont care what console its on. (ok ok, I have a ps3, but I borrowed a 360 to beat Gears so leave me alone). Multiplayer is not everything for me. I like my pc too.

I consider myself as a gamer and I only play 1-2 hours tops. That said, I haven't played any games for 2 weeks (work and waiting for mgs4, yes i skiped gta4)

Does that mean I don't qualify as a true gamer? Do i HAVE to play these games to be called a true gamer? Well I'll be Damned...

I played all the games on that list except Shinobi (ps2 version) and Ikaruga. DMC3 wasn't that hard i beat it on hard mode. I really need to get Ninja Gaiden as well. I played the demo and i liked it alot.

10 - Difficult?
The fact that they put Devil May Cry 3 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma both on this list is perfect.

NG is hard only one real major reason: Your moves are so limited and the abilities of your enemies so comparatively unfair that it makes the game hard. The camera is also your enemy.

DMC3: Dante has such a wide array of moves and abilities at this disposal that the challenge actually comes more from sheer numbers. It takes a lot of skill and timing but you can win.

Side Note: Who needed the 30 lives code for Contra? I had beaten the game before I even knew that code!
