Haze Demo Preview & Impressions

Haze. The PS3 shooter that's often synonymous with the word "Delay". It first missed a crucial fall 2007 release date and then missed a more expected March release date. This time around, Haze isn't pulling any smokey escapes. But, since its premier the playstation fanbase has turned their heads to other spectacular shooters such as Resistance 2 and Killzone 2.

Do people still buy games, just because they're fun?

People have been up and down on this game. We see a good preview and we're all psyched and then we hear one bad word and everyone hates it again. I've been yelling sleeper hit for months. Day one.

1.3 - Haze is perfect for me.
"Perfect timing" that is.

It's slow right now and I wouldn't mind having something to play while waiting on MGS4. I played the demo and it didn't wow me but it didn't bore me either. It's a very solid shooter with decent graphics.

Hopefully it will have some cool online modes and a decent story for single player.

Bathyj are you really asking or being sarcastic? That is the only reason I buy games (fun factor). Why else does anyone play video games? I do it to escape reality for a few hours a week. It relaxes me. If they weren't fun it would irritate me ;-)

I guess now all of the low expectations that have hit HAZE all of a sudden could be a good thing. You come into the game thinking you know everything and how "generic" it is, and it can bring some new surprises: the more there are, the better the experience.

Good Lord, you can't ask for something more generic than Haze.

Lol @ the guy who thinks that the famitsu score means that the game is good, LOL.

If the Famitsu review is accurate, then Haze is as good as Red Steel!

4.1 - I am going to agree with you
I PERSONALLY feel haze is generic and PERSONALLY I feel Halo is generic and Resistance, they are all the same game with different stories and thier own few tweaks and things to try and make it stand out but its games like Call of Duty 4, Gears of War and what looks to be killzone, that really define what good SHOOTERS are ment to be like.

4.2 - I really wanted to like Haze...
But it doesn't have that WOW factor. The graphics are so so and not anything this side of Killzone or Resistance 2. Sometimes a delay is a positive sign but in the case of Haze I don't believe it is. I played the demo and found as much or more fun as playing the Turok demo. All in all, Haze will be a good filler game between the big guns of MGS4 and Fall.

im sorry but this game is crap.

playd the demo after all the hype, now im hating on the whole haze thing.
good thing i havent beaten gtp....that should keep me busy til snake comes

7 - Not worth it unfortunately
I was going to buy HAZE and I had watched all of the game trailers for it and I was excited, but the demo wasn't that great.

Being that MGS4 is comming out in a months time, I think it would be a waste. I'll still be playing GTA 4, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and CoD 4 until MGS4 and BattleFeild: Bad Company come out next month.

11 - I seen the HAZE commercial today ( I liked it)
as for the game, I do not invest that much into "Shooters" on the PS3 because of it's controller and thats the truth. I would get this game, if I was able to tolerate the dualshock and it's analog placements...

I hope the finished product looks better than the demo. Resistance: Fall of Man looks infinitely better, and it's a release title.
