GTA 4 sets Guinness World Records

Guinness World Records has announced that Grand Theft Auto IV has destroyed the competition by selling 3.6 million units and earning $310 million on its first day of release.

This feat has earned the game Guinness World Records for the Highest Grossing Video Game in 24 Hours and the Highest Revenue Generated by an Entertainment Product in 24 Hours. GTA 4 has become the most profitable entertainment release of all-time, surpassing other video game, film and book releases.

This is a really damn fun game to play. I might be short-sighted but I don't see this record getting broken for a long while... proly only by GTA5.

I believe they were only comparing the 360 version to Halo 3 instead of the combined effort of both systems. I remember reading that also.

lol, this game didnt have nearly as much advertising as Halo 3 and it still sold more (i know its multiplatform title, but its still an incredible feat

I'd hate to agree with this guy but in a way he is kinda right. This game is no where near a 10. The lasting appeal is not so great. The multiplayer isn't that special, the story is engrossing though, but the gameplay just seems "old"
