Uwe Boll Wants to Make GTA Movie

"Grand Theft Auto would be super interesting for me, and I think I would actually be the right guy to do it, because my movies are all bloody and violent and I don't have a problem with action scenes," said Boll. "But look, they will go, in the end, with a Michael Bay or a Brett Ratner, and it will be a PG-13 movie made for $150 million. I think it would be better to make a $30 million, very hard, brutal movie without compromising, but I'm not optimistic."

Actually Boll does care about the quality, except he aims for the worst not the best. Seriously, his movies are so bad that it looks as if they were trying to make the worst possible POS.

Arent most of the GTAs based off of other movies? I mean they have bits a pieces of other movies in them.

Vice City was almost a carbon copy of Scarface. GTA3 had mafia elements in it like The Godfather.

I cant really think of anything for San Andreas but that is because I dont watch to many 'urban' movies.

Also, I cant find anything that 4 is based off of, but still.

Mr Boll,
Please note that the real background of GTA is not to make a higher bid of violence and sex every second, but a criticism of USA, its way of life and its underground. Until you don't understand that, please do low cost crappy films elsewhere. And if you want a low cost sex and violence movie, do snuff movies or do not do anything. You already did too much damage.

But I cant see anyway that GTA could be made into a movie. IT would have to subtly humorous, and parodic and the violence and sex treated just right. It just wont work. Either going to be a goofy movie or a superviolent one that misses the point.

This sounds like his House of the Dead philosophy, him saying it's just a game with people killing zombies so thats what he gave us. Sounds like he'll do the same here, just have some guy kill people for no apparant reason with no substance to the movie.
