sure, none of us have played the game yet so judging whether we'll play it or not is a little far fetched, but when Motorstorm has proved itself and is going to offer double the first game, in terms of players, physics, environments, tracks and graphics, I'm sure you can see why we think that Motorstorm is going to be more to our tastes.

Also alot of people simply don't have the money to keep buying many games, I know I don't because I have to pay for many games.

Why are you trying to pass yourself off as a gamer when we all know you are a fanboy. I know pretty much nothing about motorstorm but at this point i could bet ANYTHING that it will be better than pure. If you don't have a ps3 then buy pure. It doesn't mean it will be a bad game it just means MS2 will be a good game. Consider it like MLB 2k8 and MLB 08.

MLB2k8 ran better on 360 but overall it was still inferior to MLB 08 which is a ps3 exclusive.

My comment was to point out any time a dev says it will be the same on both platforms somehow someway, 360 version ends up better. I'm sure that sort of thing brings joy to someone like you, and its cool and all but this time, if you have a ps3 you don't have to deal with it because you have a better alternative in motorstorm

ive seen a few comparisons to Motorstorm. The 1st game that comes to my mind in comparison would be atv offroad fury. But although i own motorstorm and do enjoy it, i really hope the sequal offers a little more. For one i didnt like not being able to have some kind fo free mode where you can pick any track & vehicle. i hated being forced to play as a garbage truck when i wanted a rally car. or having to use the super slow dune buggy when i wanted an atv. to me the game felt like a glorified demo. no more than 5 tracks (mabey less?)! I will say that i loved the physics, and sharp visuals. I suppose i felt a little cheated that i payed $60 for such a limited game, rest assured ill be in line to buy motorstorm 2 when its out, but in the meantime ill be playing Pure =)

That is only true when it supports your fanboy agenda.

Take for example Killzone 2. Killzone 1 and the psp game recieved mixed reviews but killzone 2 is being hyped to hell and back despite being an unproved (to be good) franchise

Then you have Haze. Haze is made by free radical design, a developer with a proven pedigree of making good FPS/mulitplayer games. Yet there is a tonne of FUD spread about it being mediocre and generic.

I have not yet played Pure or motorstorm 2 but MS1 didnt grab me and the nickle and diming DLC for the game was very dissapointing. I shall try both with an open mind however.

I saw the video of this game and it looked like nothing special to me. I say it's an easy rent for those who do not have a PS3 but for those of us that have played the crap out of MS, most of us I presume will be waiting for the better title to arive this year. MS2 is coming and it looks fantastic.

I think if people do actually buy it on their PLAYSTATION 3 then I'll be quite amazed. I think it'll just be a little time filler for most. The game just wont be able to compare, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift will have such great production value considering the team are under sony so get help from other developers and they only have to work on the one console.

I'm huigely looking forward to Motorstorm 2 and I'll check out the demo for Pure, but I can't see it taking my money.

I wouldn't say it's the most definitive off road racer because of monster trucks. I would say it's due to the replayability the tracks off along with the intese action.. the tracks offer so much danger that the intesity is incredible. Playing against a friend whose sat next to me is going to be my definitive reason to buy this game, because I can't wat to go through a tight squeeze and smash them into a tree and see their face or push them off of a high edge =)
Then the monster trucks are an added bonus, crush the little ants under your feet .

oh I don't know mate...Haze 'handled' really well...and the whole nectar thing was pretty innovative...(someone plese correct me if I'm wrong about the nectar thing). what really killed them was the halo killer hype, and it was never them that promoted it...for me it needs to be a little bit faster...but I can already kind of tell, this is going to be very good online wise... it reminds me of WarHawk, it really is going to be the diamond in the rough game of the year...

edit: although I've been hearing crackdown was a surprisingly good game last year as well...

The devs and others always say Multi plat games will be the same. GTA4 devs boasted that and so did the RD-GRID devs, I named these games because they're some of the latest games when its believed by Sony fanboys that the PS3 in this day and age supposedly matching the 360 titles as of now.

I read the PS3 version was inferior.

Ghost Busters? you mean the game where the devs say these things because of Sony's involvment with the IP?. lol

The GB dev/rep said 360 was holding the PS3 back because the 360 couldn't display as many objects when its a widely known fact its the PS3 that has many objects missing in many games vs the 360. The GB person talked all this tech sh*t and didn't even know what he was talking about(said the PS3's SPE's were cores just to name one thing).

none the less, multiplatform titles are rapidly becoming equal on platforms. Which all in all is good news with all people and realistically should be good enough for both side's fanboys.

I think I'll still be passing this up for Motorstorm 2 none the less.

I know that they both a have a certain disposition, but I'd rather be civelized, so far multiplatform games have generaly been sharper and more polished so what they say holds some weight. maybe the facts touted aren't always correct, but I wouldn't know I'm not a developer.

from what I've seen Jenzo recently said that KZ2 looked good aswell, so they don't always talk about their system blindlessly as some would believe, they have had plenty of good fuel to talk down about the playstation 3 with ports looking lesser than the other.

lets all be civilised and I'm sure they will be civilised back =)

From what I've seen of Pure it looks awesome. Motorstorm 2 is only pre-alpha(40%?) so we really don't know what to expect from it yet. If the ingame footage that has been shown prove to be the final graphics then Pure looks just as good if not better to me. At least from what I've seen in trailers/screenshots.

No need to try and ridicule me for actually wanting to wait with comparisons until both games are finished and released. Just makes you look childish.
