i'm looking forward to any new info about this game. i still play the ps3 demo of it from time to time. i'll probably pick up SKATE 2 the full game when it comes out. i'm sure it will rule with all the kinks worked out.

yeah this is tite, and one could see it comin with Tony Hawk goin nintendo only for next game.... the games a nice addition and a fresh change to the skating games

It bettered one of the longest running franchises in gaming with its first go and it was made by Ea. Thats one hell of an achievment. I'll definetly be picking this up

Hell yeah, I loved the first one. I got all the single player achievements but none of the online lol...I'm sorry but the lag was really bad, I hope it's better the 2nd time around

Agreed.

I mean, EA are a greedy, franchise-milking arsehole of a company, but every now and then, they make a fantastic game, outside of the Madden series, etc.

Using the right analog stick to pull of tricks is the coolest shiz ever. Also, Skate was actually way funnier than Tony Hawk's, and wasn't even trying to be. Only problem with the game, is that the online sucked.

I think anyone who actually knows how to skate can appreciate just how great Skate's control scheme is. Hopefully they got a patent on it or something, I'd hate to see Neversoft come out with a complete clone of it.

As long as Skate's around, it'll be an uphill struggle for Tony Hawk's from here on out. Maybe it'll push the series to become good again...

As for Skate 2, I cannot wait.

I got over Tony Hawk after the stellar Tony Hawk 2. But Skate completely changed the way I viewed the genre. Skate 2 should be fantastic, all I'm waiting for now is EA to create a new IP with the same control scheme called "Surf". Now that'd be awesome! :)

Agreed with all of you. Skate was indeed a rare instance. A good and new game from EA.

As for online, I never care about it so original Skate was near perfect for me.
Can't wait for S2.

It's EA. How could it be anything other than multi-platform?

I just hope they work a little harder on getting the framerate and textures up to par on the PS3 version, because after playing the PS3 demo and then renting the actual game, I ended up purchasing the 360 version. EA better not screw this up...

come on man - unless you wanna go to the open zone. haha it depends on which system's architecture the game was originally developed for. it originally developed on ps3 and ported to others - ps3 would look the best, most of the time. the same goes for the other way around.

I think the framerate drop on the PS3 version was due to it having more AA.

PS3 version 720P 4xAA
360 Version 720P 2xAA

The devs should have made skate 2xAA on both consoles.

They actually said there would be a sequel before the first even released. So this is nothing more than a formal announcement. Regardless, I can't wait for Skate 2.

tony hawk games are screwed now that there not having a game come out this year. Next year Tony hawk better make a comeback or that game is screwed. Skate is a good it will improve just like pro skater when it went to number 2
