I absolutely loved Skies of Arcadia, and the Final Fantasy series, including Final Fantasy XII...

Skies of Arcadia was one of the few games I had for my dreamcast, and definitely one of the best.

hey MK i thought you were impartial, well you were for a while anyway. But on topic the cube already had skies of arcadia legends which is more or less what you want the wii to get. And since the original only came to the cube it would be logical to have it for the wii. Its not always graphics. i thought someone who has been playing games as long as you have would at least know that. You have turned into a bit of graphics whore/ ps3 fanboy (i expect to get diagress and be flamed for this), here's hoping you return to a real gamers state of mind.

i have nothing against Mk , I am generally only pissed off againt individuals like bootselion, crimson wolf, shaka and jackA_sses like them. But seriously, I know graphics are not everything but the whole point of Wii is to have either casual games or to have games that are meant for Wii-Mote's use.
Skies... 2 for Wii will become something like Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It was a great game but was an instant GC game. Didn't use Wii-mote and had PS2 graphics.

No More Heroes, Zack & Wiki and such take great use of Wii-mote and are meant for Wii.

I'm not a graphics fanatic or something. I was, I would have never showed so much love for Rayman Rabbids, Z&W, NMH and MP3.
The thing is that Skies 2 on Wii will be like those cheap ports that I hate.

Wii should either get the remake or better, some kind of Wii-based spin off. To me, there is no place for Skies on Wii. I never bashed or attecked Wii here.
Plus, the only thing that I bash and hate in other posts is Wii Fit, Wii Sports and the crappy side of Wii games not the great ones like SMG, Z&W and such.

You are already Judging these games because of crappy or poorly developed Wii games and thats just shallow.
Who says this game will be developed awesome on the 360 or PS3?
Because these console can handle more it doesnt mean the titles will be a instant hit.

Okay I understand what you mean but here's my take fire emblem was developed for the cube I believe initially , maybe I'm wrong. But do you think the game woule have not worked tih the wii controls for pint and click movement. Rpg's will work with the wii , you can avoid making games with motion controls on the wii. The motion sensor or ir can only be used for say attacks or something. It could also be compatible tih the gamecube controller. At that point I expect that you will ask what's the point of having it on the wii in the first place. The game skies of arcadia legends was a port more or less of the dreamcast, so they didn't really even use the gamecube, with that in mind even utilizing or pushing the new game to gamecube standards would make the game impressive . no doubt its amazing to see a game inhd with great character models and particle effects. However i am of the opinion that's great in an fps where you ahve fun with blowing stuff up but in an rpg however i take the stance that the gameplay should be interesting and it should look pretty artiastically making the environments somethign you want to look at like Metroid.

I know, judging before anything is out is wrong but I can't help but look at Fire Emblem Wii. The reason I don't think SOA belongs to Wii is because I think it may be end up like FE.
I agree that Wii is a game system but it should get the games that are meant for it. Still, it may be different.

Also, I never said a PS3 / 360 game will be awesome but at least where (IMO) the game has a better chance.

Remake and port are COMPLETELY different. Come on, a port is like a PS2 game or a watered down PS3 / 360 game but a Remake can be a whole lot more than graphical update. In a remake gameplay can also change or get upgraded as well.
Just look at the uber awesome Okami remake on Wii even though that's not a full remake but still is much better than a port.

I agree on your point on FE's initial system. I see what you mean about SOA: L on GC. Still IMO, a Wii game has to use Wii-mote. Plus, Wii-mote can be used as a mouse cursor on Wii games like Z&E and Metroid. Unleass the new SOA on Wii can take full advantage of Wii-mote, I'm against it.

It would have been bashed for the so called " kiddy image " and mario games and so many Zelda games( but Gta 8 is A o kai !!!).

There is nothing wrong being a fan, but saying it shouldnt be on the Wii is nonsense. Wii is gaming console, so it might not have the HD Resolutions but this doesnt mean the game will SUCK.

edit: Nintendo wasnt being cheap, they lost to much money with the N64 and GCN. They couldnt take a nother big risk plus this system reached a wider audience.Nintendo going the same road as they did before would have killed them and you know it.

dude something being made into Hd does not make it a better game, i play my wii on a 46 inch lcd hdtv which outputs 1080p. The games look far from bad but it could be because my tv upscales whatever it outputs. It should be on the wii because I think the system has a greater appeal since hardcore gamers largely ignored this gem when it came out on hardcore system last time. A game in hd does not make the game better. it offers it to fewer people too. To answer you second claim nintendo made two graphically superior and harcore systems and wait did gamers care? no they went for the playstation 2 which was a casual gamers system because of all the casual games believe it or not. I owned a ps2 i remember how much crap and nonsensical casual crap it had. Nintendo is doing the same thing allowing casuals and you guys already proved you don't care about intendo , if nintendo came out with an hd system with motion controls it would have cost more and then it would be a war just like last time , all the systems would be alittle more powerful then one another. Nintendo would be ignored again becuase it wouldn't have the install base it has now. Nintendo is not being cheap it is being smart. Also , shouldn't every game on the ps2 be on the xbox cos it would have looked better but no it didn't because ps2 had the install base. The wii is still young and people still aren't mature enough to accept it or relatively new to gaming and try to call themselves real gamers. The wii will get solid hardcore gamin library if these kind of exclusives keep coming and then you will have to accept that it is a hrdcore gaming system. IMO off-topic SMG totally PWNS ratchet and clank and this from an ex-ps2 owner remember.

Sidar, well I consider the revised / face lift more of a port. Okami on Wii is close to what I meant even though it is partially a revised remake.
Plus, reimagine and revised are really used a lot. Revised is more towards the port and reimagined is more like remake.

As for RE5, it depends:

If a single team makes a single version for all consoles (Wii version having motion controls for aiming like RE4 and PS3/360 ones having better graphics) then I'm against it because that would benefit neither console.
That same version for PS3, 360 and Wii means that it can't use advance gameplay technics like modern AI and physics systems and since it has to be played with analoges as well, it can't take full advantage of Wii's motion sensetive powers.

But if there are different versions, like Lucas Arts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, then I definitly support the game for all platforms. In case of that game, one team is making the PS3 and 360 versions which use Euphoria and DMM as core of gameplay with more focus on physical gameplay and force related stuff while a different team (Krome I think) is making the Wii version which is focused more on lightsaber using duels that takes great advantage of the Wii-mote as well has having a full fighting mode with many characters that can participate in sword fights that use Wii-mote.

Also, some times the core of a game prevents it from going to other systems. Look at Rayman Raving Rabbids. This game ROCKED on Wii but when it was ported to PS2 and 360, nobody bought and nobody liked it. The reason is that that game was MEANT for Wii. My Wii fave, Zack & Wiki is another example. Not only it was awesome but it brought life to the classic point and click adventure on a console by making superb use of Wii-mote.

Same goes for another Lucas Arts game, Fracture. A game that is coming only for PS3 and 360 because they whole point of this game is the advanced physics system working with terrain. Battlefield Bad Company is also the same. In that game, fully destructable enviroments that need processing power of PS3 and 360 are the whole point of the game.

So in case of RE5, it's not the time to decide because we know almost nothing about it.

Wii actually supports all kind of controller setups.
However i understand that you would be saying: " if they are going to do a traditional Controller scheme then its best on PS3 and 360"
But you are the one also saying GFX arent everything.

I know that Physics based games could benefit more on a PS3 or 360, but from what i understand SOA can also be done on the DS or a PSP for that matter....its been there on the GCN and i see no reason why it would fail if it comes to the Wii.
Im not saying it shouldnt be on the PS3/360, the more the marrier but its also marketing; the game sold well on the GCN....so why not on the Wii? it seems the audience is there.

If there is a PSP and DC version of a game, it must be light and good for on the go. Back then on GCN, there wasn't much difference between consoles.

a dreamcast game that was later ported to gamecube it is one of my favorite RPG games i would put it in my top ten for the ammount of free roaming and first person view ability they added in there not to mention the battle system rivaled FFVII in terms of fun factor using that system

it was also a JRPG about being pirates (good pirates) and had an island where you could customize your own base/town also the main characters actually didn't have crazy spiked hairdos and were rather normal

AND as a later note YES!!! i hope this is a PS3 game as this was the only game for the wii i wanted i would love to have the sequel to one of my favorite RPG's from the dreamast THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I'VE HEARD ALL DAY forget killzone/gears this is an RPG i'd love to play the sequel to

i wonder how they will continue the story arc i'm thinking they'll go back further in time and get the Dracan guys storyline going that would be awesome :)

Anything that plays games and does it well is a gming system, the wii is simply not your console of choice snd you wish for your cnsole to receive it so that gamers who made the choice to own another console should not be able to have fun or enjoy a good game if it turns out to be one??

the FACT is that:

PS3's install base in Japan= 2.1mil (with strong sales every month) vs 360= 0.6mil (and the sales have basically stopped, full stop- 6k a month might as well be 0 in this biz)

where will this game sell mostly? Japan and a bit in Europe (PS3 land too)

and yes i agree, if your a JRPG gamer NOW- the 360 is the way to go

but if your a dev looking to sell a japan-focused game, you would just be wasting your time with a 360 port

LO sold well in USA/EU because it was marketed really well, and why? because MS had to get the message across that the 360 is for JRPG lovers too

Sega aren't great with marketing, and they'll most likely stick to focusing on Japan with this one

basically, White Knight Story has to come soon to get the ball rolling for Japan and JRPG's on the PS3 in general

oh yeah and we're getting FF13 and FFv13, which automatically makes every JRPG on 360 look like a tamagochi

and WKS/Valkyria Chronicles/SO4(probably will stay PS3 exclusive)/ Suikoden 6(come on, we know its happening)/Rogue Galaxy 2 (after Level 5 has finished with WKS)/Fifth Phantom Saga on top of that

He is not a jrpg fan, and noone in the right mind will choose 360 as their jrpg platform of choice. The fact is that almost all jrpg have flopped hard on the 360, namely blue dragon, and so many developers will avoid wasting their resources to develop jrpg on the 360 unless getting paid to do so.
