Maybe not all of them are playstation fans, but really, why do you care about difference?
PS3 will dominate, when games like MGS4, GT5, FFXIII, KZ2, LBP and etc will come.
PS3 will have BEST games available, REALLY best, just think, GoW3, 2 Team Ico games, Heavy Rain, 8days, Infamous, Wardevil, Uncharted 2, HS2, Tekken6, Getaway 3 + some incredible announced games.
PS3 will own this generation.

Do average customers really care? x360 LOSING in sales on EVERY region! x360 is down, nothing will help to it.

Both consoles offer the same awesome experience, but at the same time they both have unique advantages...and disadvantages.

I personally prefer the Xbox 360, but I am a gamer and I see it as inevitable that I eventually pick up a PS3. I think the 360 is the better console, but the PS3 is catching up fast and like the author said PSN has no where to go but up.

Am I able to reserve my PSN id? I don't know what to make it...but it has to be tough.

It holds less, 8.5 gb (in the measurement used for hard drive 1000kbit instead of 1024.)
So in reality it holds 7.95.
The same is used on blu ray disc's:
BD25, "25gb" -> 23.31gb
BD50, "50gb" -> 46.61gb
dvd9, "8.5gb" -> 7.95gb

but I am pretty sure you left out the ability to use nearly and USB or Bluetooth perp (headset, mouse & keyboard, flight stick, racing wheels, etc....)

And IMHO that is HUGE flexibility sorely lacking on the 360. I am rather ticked that I cant use my Logitech G25 to play PGR4 and Forza 2 with. The wheel available for the 360 is garbage compared to the G25. I know because I have that one as well.

Everything has to go through MS certification (proprietary crap) in order to work on the 360. In other words MS wants their $$$$$. They nickel and dime you to death! They even charge to change your gamertag and most gaming themes have a price tag as well! Then they have the nerve to make silver account users have to wait to download demos. WOW!

This coming from a guy that spent last 3 hours playing GTA IV on the 360 finishing up my most wanted list.

Good thing the heat issues were resolved almost a year ago. And, everyone gets a free repair if they have any problem.

So, as a customer, I'm much happier knowing that MS will take care of me if I ever have a problem with my Xbox 360 (I havent).

Also, as a customer, I am unhappy that Sony did nothing to help me when I had 3 PS2s fail.

I didnt get a free repair. I got "It must be over heating because your dont have it ventilated. No the dvd drives dont have a problem. You must have moved it while playing. We can fix it if you pay for postage and repairs. No it doesnt matter that the console has only been released for 4 months. No its not covered by warranty".

Where as with Sonys customer support I got, "It might not be a problem with the console but send it in anyway. No it wont cost you anything and the turn around time is about 4-5 days."

Take a wild wild guess which one i sold on ebay for AU$100. When they cost about 500. So dont bring your fanboy crap into the gamer zone saying ms do right by their customers cos its a load of crap and it gives me the absolute S**TS because i also had about 10 games, all of which i ended up selling for about 1/4 of what i paid for them. Oh and the 9 months of Live membership id paid for that i couldnt use. So F*** MS and their dodgy peice of crap hardware. You can have more fun just flushing the money down the f***ing drain.

Weel apart from the constant lock ups, the no standard HDD and dvd format hindering games (its undeniable. Dont even try.)I have no complaints.

And to be honest 99% of gamers dont care about the non standard HDD and dvd drive thing.

Ive said it a million times, I loved my 360. It was great. Until the thing broke and MS refused to fix it. And now i dont trust them enough to buy another so yeah. If you dont mind the reliabilty problems and you can trust MS not to just fleece you of a few hundred dollars, jump in. I personally liked the new controller, the os interface, all that. I actually wish someone would make a 3rd party ps3 controller that is shaped like the 360 one. Oh and everyone having a headset on live is good too.

But yeah, all the positives are useless when the thing wont play games.

It sucks. Every pay day i think of going and getting an elite, but i honestly dont trust the reliability of the console. THis is just my personal opinion, but yeah. I never got to play halo3 (reason i purchased it)and wont get to play gears 2 either. It makes me angry because i want to buy it, i just want it to work for a few years.

5 - The Difference is...

PS3 is the only true next-gen system the Wii and 360 shouldn't even be considered next-gen consoles. First off the Wii and 360 still use an old format called DVD which only holds 4.7 gbs of data or 9gb on dual layer disc, the PS3 uses Blu-ray which holds 25gb of data or 50gb on dual layer disc. The Wii has no hdmi port which is necessary for the future while the 360 has an hdmi port 1.2 and the PS3 has an hdmi port that supports 1.3a. The differences first off 1.2 supports 16.7 million colors while 1.3a supports over 1 billion colors. 1.2 cant use Dolby True HD or DTS HD Master Audio and it cant support 7.1 surround sound, while on the other hand hdmi 1.3a supports all that plus more. hdmi 1.2 can only support 1920x1080p60fps maxed out while 1.3a supports 2560x1600p60fps maxed out. An added bonus about 1.3a also supports x.y.Color and Deep Color which 1.2 dosent. 1.3a also has a way higher transfer rate and bit rate compared to 1.2. Also the 360 has 3 core processors which is old news considering Intel makes Quad Core Processors while the PS3 has the revoluntionary Cell processor which has 8 and the Wii has a weak processor we dont even nedd to talk about.You cant even upgrade the 360 HD unless u pay for an overpriced 120 piece of crap HD on th PS3 u can upgrade your HD limitleesly. The 360 or the Wii doesnt even have an HD movie playback drive the PS3 does. The PS3 is built stronger than both the Wii and 360 it can handle more heat and cold and still not break down. Also the PS3 firmware constantly upgrades the system and by far has the most multimedia compatibilities compared to the Wii and 360. The RSX GPU can handle DirectX 10 level details and graphics the 360 GPU can't. The PS3 is truly the only system worthy of being called next gen and is the most future proof console that ever existed.

Controller thats all personal preference.. Sony has stuck with the same style for a reason.. IT works.. and Unlike 360s controllers Ps3 controllers are rechargable and require no xtra batters.. saving you money...

Yes the 360 has games.. but its been proven that only 26% of them are good compared to 33% of the PS3 are good.. So Ps3 has higher quality in software and hardware less then 1%

Ps3 actually advances in Graphics over time.. 360 has looked the same for the last 3 years.. Example GOW and GOW2.. all they did was change the lighting.. and lets be honest with a simple UnReal 3 Mod for Ps3 we can easly play GOW style game with the same graphics

Yes XBL has more features.. but it plays its games on a P2P server.. so if the server goes down because of Traffic jam of one game.. The whole server suffers for those not even playing that game

Ps3 Dedicated servers have been proven better and Less laggy

The last but not least.. Playstation brand is proven.. and have also shown improvments with each generation of games.. Ps2 1st year cant compare to ps2 now.. PS3 is follow the same formula..

It's been proven they're better? Wow, if I think back to the good year of 2007, most GOTY nominations were 360. If your games are so good, shouldn't at least ONE be nominated? FAIL. I don't know where you're getting your percentages but no matter what number you pull out of your @ss, it still doesn't help you in your argument. The 360 has a good amount more games than the PS3 right now, it had a year head start. If you deny that, you're an idiot. Obviously every title isn't stellar and AAA. Heck, I consider the PS2 a huge success. But if you take your little formula and use it with the PS2, you'll have a lower percentage of good games. Why? Because the PS2 has quite a few titles, and they aren't all AAA.

Graphics: Yes the PS3 has some good graphics, but it didn't advance with the PS3, it advanced with the developers. 360 games and PS3 are really similar. Devs had more time to learn about next-generation gaming BEFORE the PS3 came out. So of course graphics are going to be better than the first and second year 360 games. Use logic dude, not bias.

Don't even mention PSN. It just plain sucks and you know it. I feel so empty everytime I get on PSN, because it's not as fun as LIVE. So I hardly ever play PS3 games online. Don't try to defend it. If you want a valid argument, bring up HOME. It's not even out yet, and I can tell you right now, ANYTHING is better than PSN. So it's welcomed with open arms.

Don't get on here and try to spin "facts". Odds are, there are at least a few intelligent people on here to shut you down, just as I did.

I'm not being bias, just clearing up the things you thought were facts. I didn't say one bad thing about the PS3 except PSN(thats the reality of it, it's not a good service, HOME will fix that). Feel free to respond.

Well if you look at the past, good games always had limitations. The thing is, they were still good. The Wii is good in its' own ways, even with it's limitations. The 360 will hold its' ground until 720 comes. Just because it uses DVD9, doesn't mean crap. The PS2 and original Xbox had some great games, yet they weren't swayed by what limited disc space they had.

If you really think horsepower and bluray drive video games, you need to look back in time, broseph.

the diffrence between the 360 and the ps3. is the 360 has more games,a better online,better versions of games( over 87% better games).ps3 games need patches with every mutli-plat game,a gimped online(but free),you have to install games just to play, and the most inportant one. Is it cuz you found out the PS3 is only good for that leftover space in your home theatre?I mean c'mon dont you know by now 360 is the best.If PS3 didnt have bluray or wifi built in it would cost no more than a wii?The only reason 360 has a DVD drive and not bluray is cuz it didnt exist in 05 and if microsoft can drop 50 mill on dlc for gta iv im pretty sure sony wouldve gave bluray to ms for a few suit cases of dough.The 360 would be more expensive if they made wifi built in.The 360 is the best period.
