1.4 - I have no idea what Codemasters
is trying to do with GRID. It's an arcade racer with arcade physics and car damage? I played online for a couple hours and it's way too easy to put missle someone and take them out of the race.

One thing Codemasters definitely has to get on before this is released is the ability to go the wrong way and cause havok online. Most newer racers make you go invisible so you cant go the wrong way and crash into people but not GRID. It got annoying fast when I ran into more then one moron doing this on XBL and PSN.

It's a pretty game but nothing special. DiRT on tarmac. I will get it though. I am a huge race fan and I pick up almost every racing game that comes out. Besides racing games are a blast to play on the Logitech G25 and playseat Evo.

Let me break grid down for you sak, comparing it to GT5 means you probably haven't played it. Grid belongs in the arcades. I can't remember the last time i played such an arcadey game. Probably since need for speed:D
I hate need for speed with a passion but some people love it so grid will be right at home with those people. Visually, it doesn't hold a candle to PGR4 (which is 2nd place for racing visuals) talk less of GT5P.

Physics and damage are rock solid though i'll give them that. The environment destruction is also well done. The physics aren't very realistic and the cars feel light like paper. Grid is a disapointment in all ways

1.6 - The Game is good
I just don't get why the car pivot around the middle, it's a bit like DIRT, it just makes the handling seem odd

I really feel bad for racing games that come after GT5. They will always be compared and I think they'll always come short.

I must detest and expose Codemasters. They promised us a game that could rival Gran Turismo 5, and surprisingly they fell short. With their arcade feel, and less than satisfying graphics. Over all it felt like DiRT on tarmac with racing cars. Better look next time Codemasters.

Its llike they grabbed Dirt, put it on road and made it impossible to control!

Impossible to control? Try playing with a real controller rather than $10 plastic toy which came with ur ps3. If you have driven a real car, ur car doesnt fish tail all over the road if you make a turn at a reasonable speed. The cars in this behave almost like the real cars specially at turns, u can get the control back immediately if u let go off the gas. But in most of the racing games the cars spin out of control even at normal controllable speeds.

sak do you work for code masters or something? If you like the game go ahead and buy, why are you bringing fanboy nonsense into this. Its not like its an exclusive game.

Is it because they told you it would be better than GT5? lol Common even you yourself should have known thatw as a lie

3.4 - Im sorry sak
its pretty pathetic though that you went through my comment history to answer me and insult me. I totally forgot Sony killed your family, my condolences man. This game is impossible to play, period. GT5P says so.

4 - Good Game
I am actually glad it turned out more like Dirt because I love Dirt. Best Rally game this Gen. If I want to play another sim-racer, I will play the best...GT5 and Forza3 when they hit. Everything else is simply for fun.

5 - i never spin out on GT5
Sak

so i dont know what your getting at?

The only time you spin out is if you hit the grass with your back tires and if you hit the gas. Just like real life

anyway

on point

this game looks like total pounded dog sh!t

no thanks

GT5 FTW

6 - listen Sak
when a race car driver says the car he drives in real life matchs what the in game car does thats all you need to know

i dont think you really understand driving. Why dont you take a 5.0 Mustang into a turn at speed then jam the gas. You will be spun out in a fast hurry.

Im a huge race fan and i have always enjoyed the skills Racers bring to the track. GT5 is the closest thing to real life with spending the BIG money it takes to race

Also I would go back and play that GRID demo again (if you have even played it), because if you want the game to become more simulation then all you have to do is turn off all of the driver help settings.

I'm not saying that you have to like GRID, but you should at least do some sort of research when attacking a game.

When it comes to driving REALISTICALLY Grid is far below the pack of Gran Turismo, Forza, PGR e.t.c. Even the makers of the game admitted they were going for arcade and not simulation. So bottom line is no race driver in the world can tell me grid drives realistically. Maybe the drift is realistic i don't know because i don't drift but as for driving NO its not

gt5 all the way, you can call motorstorm a rally game (with high octane jet engine turbo)so i would say motorstorm is the best rally game of this gen, until gt5 comes out that is*.

7.1 - Without question Motor Storm is the best
Rally Racer this gen. I enjoyed DiRT but it not as much fun or as intense as Motor Storm. I can't wait for Motor Storm 2. That and I wish Dice would make a new Ralli Sport Challenge game. I still don't understand why that franchise was put out to pasture.

9 - Grid didn't feel right...
Burnout as an arcade has better car controls and feel then grid did.
I raced with the BMW. The sound of the car the spinning out in a straight turn and on the track spinning was ridiculous. The damange was very unrealistic and the speed seemed off.

The racing felt like I was on ICE and it felt like the DiRT demo all over again to me. Which at leas DiRT had the excuse of actually racing on dirt. I have no clue what excuse Codemasters is giving this game but it is not a great racer at all. Whether that be arcade style or Simulation.

I'm a huge fan of racing games both arcade and simulators and this just feels wrong. Heck the cars in GTA IV have more control then the cars in Grid do.

My personal feelings of the game and take it at that. For those that enjoy it. I'm glad they made a game for you but I'm personally dissappointed with what they did and I think it needs more work.

I tried the demo on PSN last night .. I dunno it feels like it's trying to be both an arcade and simulator. :/

I already have GT5 and Burnout, so I think I'll pass...

11 - I don't need or like racing games
I have Saints Row, Crackdown, GTA III (Vice city and SA) GTA IV. What would I need a racing game for? you can't get out of your car in a racing game, your just stuck there going "WAAAAAAAH WAAAAAAAAAAH WAAAAAAAAAH CRASH WAAAAAAAAAH WAAAAAAAA CRASH!" Only racing game I ever liked was Road Rash (Oh the good ole days) I don't see why people like Burnout, Project Gotham, Grand Turismo, they all suck to me. "Look we have rain on our cars" then "well we have better looking fenders" and "we have racecar drivers on our cover, well we have every Ford ever made" Just give me a rocket launcher and I can dry that rain, bend those fenders, turn that driver in to red goo, and destroy every Ford I can find.

In other words, I'm not a race fan LOL :P

I see where you're coming from, I only really play Gran Turismo myself, but you need a steering wheel. Playing with a controller is beyond pointless as far as I'm concerned.

Grid has the same look and atmosphere as Colin McRae: Dirt, don't know if that's supposed to a good thing or not, but it's quite enjoyable to play especially the eBay musclecar series in the Mustang GT-R ( on the PS3 demo version ).
For the Euro cup in the BMW 320Si is more slippery, not a lot of grip from the tires - more like driving on ice, very arcade in feel., a bit the same for the drift series in the Nissan Sylvia.
In-car view ( same as in Dirt ) is quite good, while the new damage-mode system is ok, one thing though - if the car is almost totally crushed, why are the wings still attached and does'nt fall-off or get broken?

Still a very good game, yes more arcade in feel even compared to Dirt., and I really like the line-up of racecars they'ved put in this game.

A good game still, but cannot be compared to GranTurismo Prologue which is just miles away in everything even without the most requested damage-mode.

Can't wait for the full version and go and drive in the LeMans Series.
