Logitech Dinovo Mini for PS3 Review

Sev1512 writes:
We all know using the PS3 on screen keyboard to type, can be very tedious. So tedious, that I have had people whom I've sent a PSN message to, reply via email, just so they could just type on their computer.

I didnt really want a huge full-sized keyboard and mouse setup, as I game from the comfort of my couch. I dont have the space for it and its inconvenient.

There is a thumbpad accessory for the PS3. But many have reported that it was a waste of money, even some people claiming it couldnt even connect to the PS3.

So what is a PS3 owner to do to be able to type with ease? The answer? Logitech Dinovo Mini.

Actually, it doesnt need the dongle at all. Its bluetooth. I just used the dongle as an example of how not to have to re-pair your PS3 again.

Good review Sev, although the actual peripheral is too expensive for my taste.

Thanks for the compliment. The look and the style really makes up for the price. When people see it they are instantly impressed.

Maybe I am just that show off type of guy

6 - good review
I was thinking about picking this up and despite the price I probably will. Would have been nice if they added a headset jack to it though, then I wouldn't need a separate headset and it would make the price easier to swallow.

Nice little unit but I need it to have a start button and pre-marked ps3 keys. I want my parents to be able to pick this thing up and use it. Instead it seems like it was designed for MediaPCs and then at the last minute the PS3 functionality was tacked on.

You can not zoom in on webpages with this device. Some of the simplest functions require multi-button presses. It's very expensive compared to the logitech mediaboard pro which works much better with the Playstation 3.

This product from logitech is novel, feels nice in the hand and seems to be pretty good quality but after using it for a week I found the only thing it was good for was typing in URLs and messages. Caveat Emptor if you are only looking to pair this up with the PS3, it may be the smallest solution on the market but it isn't the best.

It does have alot of wow factor but for $150, it better be flashy.

7.1 - I have this keyboard
and agree, they could have done so much more but it seems as though "PS3 Support" was tacked on to tick an extra box.

It is good in terms of being compact and handy, but I think its brother the diNovo Edge is better for functionality

I prefer Nyko's itype2 design.

http://www.nyko.com/nyko/pr...

Now this is a ps2 version. They haven't as yet developed one for the Ps3. But having said that, they have already developed a Zero Ps3 controller already - they have a Zero Ps2 controller. The Zero Ps3 has proper triggers, six-axis, rumble and detachable batteries - much like a x360 controller.

Sweet.

Logic dictates that they'll likely do itype2 for the Ps3.

Now I've got to find out how to buy the damn things in NZ.

this definitely goes well with my all logitech accessory for my PS3. i don't mind paying the price for quality since I did pay $250 for my G25 steering wheel. it's stuff like this makes me glad that I chose PS3 instead of 360.
