1 - In spite of all the sky high review scores,
Someone actually had the balls to do this. No game is perfect anyway.

1.1 - thats different
its one thing to point out flaws in a game but they are straight bashing it. its a great game imo. sure it has a couple bugs, all games do, thats whats niice about this generation though, mandatory firmware updates. regardless this game is a 9.5 or higher in my books. cod4 had WAYYY more bugs and online problems when it first came out (actually it still has some bugs), and gta is a wayyyy bigger game. compared to other games the bugs are easily forgotten.

The good greatly outweighs the bad. I have recently been killing the rats with wings and wow... There is sooo much more to this city then you would see in a normal run through. It's crazy. I have a lot of respect for the time and effort it must have taken. Nothing is perfect but I could not have asked for more...

3 - GTA?
i do agree the story is repetitive and look a like environments this GTA was rather disappointing. well xbox was the cause it sucked because they had to downgrade everything so xbox 360 could handle it unfortunately they had to do the same with PS3....

3.1 - didnt hey have different production teams working on ps3 and xbox360
so the ps3 production team shouldnt have been held back from the xbox team

and wasnt it stated somewhere that the ai models (pedestrians) we different models than that of the xbox version...i remember reading somewhere that the hookers on ps3 were better looking than the ones on the 360...so what has 360 gotta do with the ps3 version when it comes to the modelling

i prolly dont know what im talking about, but still...i dont think the lack of modeling on the ps3 was because of them having to keep close to the quality of the 360 version

Listen if anything they had to hold back the Xbox 360 version check the comparisons. The ps3 version runs at a lower resolution and it has horrible frame rates. The xbox 360 version runs at 720p and the framerate is usually above 30 fps while the ps3 is close to 20 fps.

They missed #1. Same Crappy Game Play or are the repetitive missions we've been playing for the past 3 games worse? It's so hard to tell.

The only thing I'm disappointed about is that you couldn't do some of the stuff like your able to do in San Andreas for example modify cars.

7 - I hate the "same missions" comment
I don't know what they expect the missions to be like. When playing a racing game, are they surprised when they are mostly the same? Or a Sports game?

Baseball is Baseball, GTA is GTA. You cant change that or you will lose the appeal.

The difference is when you play a racing game you expect good racing to back it up. When you play a shooter game you expect spot on precision. What have I come to expect from the gta series? Quantity of quality. Sure you can fight someone, but can you do it without feeling like you've got a bad case of cerebral palsy. Sure you can drive, but can you do it without feeling like your grandma who forgot to wear her glasses? Sure you can shoot, but can you do it without feeling like Dirty Harry's inbred retarded cousin? The list goes on, and on.

#1: They are playing it on a 360... no troubles like that on the PS3.
#2: Have you drove through New York City or any big city? A lot of it looks the same. The environment is realistic to a flaw.
#3: Wow honestly... you are going to go to install options.. to HAVING options...
#4: Repetetive.. Hmm kinda like Halo or any other FPS where you kill people till you "win"
#5: See #1... This should be combined on theirs anyway.
#6: I could go with the simple "You Suck At It" approach with this one, but the fact is R* went away from the arcady feel of GTA:SA. It starts with the graphics than goes to the physics and the gameplay is forced to evolve with it. This is a plus in my eyes and many others and after a while you can fly around the city with skill.
#7: Faces... too easy.. Next
#8: If anyone understands this complaint please explain it to me.
#9: FINALLY a reasonable argument! Touche I will give you guys this point!
#10: I will never visit gadgetzone again.. and im sorry I gave them a hit for the one time i went there...

8.1 - I agree...
1. I honestly haven't noticed any pop-in at all on the PS3 version. (I have a 360 too, so that's not a fanboy comment.) And anyway, would that really qualify as a "bug"? I would've thought pop-in was due to system restraints.
2. It's pretty damn realistic in terms of environments - it only misses the cartoony neon glow of Vice City. The detail in these environments is better than ever, though.
3. In the 7 minutes it took to install, I read the (very amusing) manual. Big deal. Ever tried installing an un-patched MMO on a PC?
4. Running street battles, car and bike chases, sniping assassinations, kidnappings, dating, truck surfing... to name but a few.
5. The lighting is fine. In fact, the dawn/dusk effects are nothing short of stunning.
6. I've had very few problems with the camera, and NONE outside. I did have problems with the driving... until I learned to use the brake.
7. WTF?
8. I agree there are times when the AI isn't perfect, such as when your pickup won't get in your car because he's stuck behind a garbage can or something. But the examples given just add to the fun of GTA, don't they?
9. The frame-rate is already strained when there's a lot of on-screen clutter. Multiply that by two and you realise that split-screen is not viable.
10. Set the next game in Chicago and see Mr Connery come running.

8.2 - hmmm
@haruvister

#9 - split screen is absolutely viable. COD4, Warhawk, Resistance, and any number of other games have split screen. They had split screen in San Andreas. Since when is stripping features 'next gen.'

Sure, this article has some problems, but I think the lack of local multiplayer is a severe oversight.

9 - I find GTA4 the best single-player experience on current consoles, but...
...why so much ingame money? Ok, I got the ps3 and therefor no achievements. But there are so many "useless" sidequests for money and there's actually no point in having so much (almost $800k). This totally bothers me and tops every other flaws and bugs story.
Maybe I overlooked something in this game. When it's so, please clarify me ppl.

I always wanted something to spend my money on. Have it be like ratchet and clank, where you save up like 2 mill for an awesome gun or a car that is always at your garage.

Shooting and aiming sucks. In fact, everything about the combat sucks. The camera sucks. The draw distance sucks. Still a great game though. I'd give it an 8.5. Vice City will always be the best.

Could they be more nitpicky, the only pop-ins I have noticed is when I am driving really fast.
