SOCOM: Confrontation Impressions by Gamespot.

There was no real surprise when Sony announced that the much-loved SOCOM franchise would be coming to the PlayStation 3, but this time around, battle is being approached slightly differently. Developer Slant Six was on the show floor to give us a look at what it's doing with the game.

I just hope i get into the open beta so i can see if i really like it. This will be my first SOCOM because i never took my ps2 online. All i need is a couple of good reviews to reinforce my decision and i will be downloading it on my hard drive in september

it's really a smart move by sony to release one BIG PSN title every year... that seems to be the deal atleast..

Gameplay over graphics any day.

You dont stick to playing a game because it has nice graphics...you play it because its fun...and thats what this game should be...fun.

Yea the visuals don't killzown but they aren't half bad in my opinion. Not the best looking game but definitely a good looking game. If released as is without any further polish, i would take it without complaints. I love pretty games but at the end of the day, gameplay is what keeps you playing not graphics

6 - Graphics still need a lot of work.
I know it's all about gameplay and whatever, but immersion is a big factor for most gamers. It's still a big leap though from what Slant Six was doing before, which was PSP titles.
